Happy New Year, everyone.

Quick update: Yesterday I suffered some vehicular troubles en route to my home, and was slightly stranded in my old home of Connecticut. Without any content (I failed to bring my computer and/or external hard drive), I couldn’t get anything posted. Moreover, the holiday allowed me to step back for a day and hang with some friends, eating a generous portion of pork and sauerkraut.

Unfortunately, I still don’t have what I need to post in our ongoing lists, as I won’t be home until later today. That said, I’ll post both the next installment of the Greatest Phillies list, and the next installment of the Phandom 25, later today. And as a bonus, I’ll post two Greatest Phillies tomorrow, and two Phandom 25s Sunday, to get back on track.

Onto business. Here are some things I’ll be working on for 2009:

Chats. We’re talking about it, at least, and it should happen sooner than later.

Mailbags. I did two not long ago, but will get those going again.

The Nation Minute. It’s not dead, just hibernating. I’m reformatting it to fit the minute block and cover more ground.

Projections: Starting in February, I’ll offer projections for all Phillies, with community feedback.

Interviews: I’ll be doing more of these.

Commentaries: One per day, not one per once in a while.

These things will all take shape as the year progresses, to be fully cooking by Opening Night.

I hate Pork and Sauerkraut more than wet socks (everyone hates wet socks)… my wife loves it. I can’t stand the smell so I won’t let her cook it, therefore she has to go to her parents’ house to eat it… on second thought, maybe it’s not so bad. At least it gets her out of my hair for a little while on New Years Day so I can watch some bowl games!

Ugh I’m with Chuck on the pork and sauerkraut, fermented cabbage-wtf? Living in the heart of Pa Dutch country, everyone eats it up here except us. My dad loves it but I won’t cook it in my house, it stinks the place up for days on end. You know when you make that stuff you have to skim the mold off the top everyday, no wonder it’s like a laxative!

Glad to see you’re enjoying that new HDTV, Chuck. If you find yourself watching the WBA you’ve gone over the edge.

If you add some Pillsbury brown gravy to the sauerkraut, than put the pork chops into the mix (cooked of course) and let it stew in the oven for about 20 mins,so the chops don’t dry out,its a match made in heaven,oh and take some of that mix and top it onto noodles and string beans, you have yourself a hearty meal.Thats our cooking tip for the day.LETS GO METS!

How about during spring training where, on a first come first serve basis, a member is asigned one of the 29 other teams to give a report on heading into the season. Would increase everyone elses knowledge of what is going on and could be quite fun ?

PNcom: My mom lives in Orange outside of New Haven.

Someone should tell the New York Mets to tell their farm club, the Buffalo Bisons, to get an original name for their stadium!

Go Phillies, Go IronPigs in 2009! No going for Mets
