Todd, still never said anything bad about NYC that isn’t true. I said it is a great city. Outside of Shea / Citi Field is DISGUSTING and I dare anyone to disagree with me. I also don’t understand where this “class” angle that New Yorkers try to throw around with people from Philly as if New Yorkers aren’t known as the rudest, most crass people by the other 49 states that they are not.

I am from New Jersey. I grew up 15 minutes from Manhattan and lived there for 22 years — I was a Phils / Mike Schmidt fan the entire time. I lived in Philadelphia for six years. I live in neither now. I have great things to say about both cities. You know damn well that Philadelphia is more than the murder rate just like NYC isn’t about across the street from Shea. There is good and bad everywhere. I would rather live in the Chestnut Hill section of Philadelphia than ANY other neighborhood on the East Coast. For me, there’s nowhere that can touch it. I’m glad you enjoy NY.

My entire point is that everyone with the NYC is better than Philadelphia nonsense can zip it because a) well this is about baseball, the Marlins make both teams look foolish and they’re from FLORIDA and b) I KNOW that 99% of the Mets jerks that post on this board live in some goonie town like Parsippany, NJ or Islip, NY and those cookie cutter, guido infested junk holes can’t hold a candle to Philly. The fascination bridge and tunnelers have with pretending that they’re from Manhattan is unreal.

i love how phillies fans get the most comments on articles about things that the mets players say. Why dont you just worry about your own team instead of trying to bash the Mets. Well Mutley, I’m that 1% that isn’t living in the dumpy subs… i live in the city, have so for 10 years. Long Island sucks, Queens is worse… but when you’re from Philly… man, you’ve just got nothing to say about NYC. I’m perfectly happy enjoying the Phils from here man, it’s all good. You, however, are not welcome.

If you love the phils mutley, i love you, but i’ll still slap you.

Toronto? not so much, however Montreal is awesome.

Give their trolls a break, they are just frustrated that they have to deal with the Phillies being the WFC’s and the fact their team has to wait 7 months to prove their WERTH. If the Mets jump out to any kind of division lead, they will be crowing. Just to get shut down again.

I have news for you Mets tools, this Phillies team is deeped than the 2008 version. Mets fans like to say “if our pen did this or didn’t do that, your team don’t win the division”. Guess what, the Phillies won a stretch of games during the season when the offense was in a 2 month slump, AS A TEAM. I have never witnessed that before.

THe Mets on the other hand, nothing but excuse after excuse. I hate their guts, their team and the portion of their fanbase that is nothing but trash.

hold up there chase mutley… no taking pot shots at NYC now… i live in NYC and am from here, and ive gone to philly many, many times to go see games and hang out with a few buddies that live there. I also read the philly papers, where i learn all about the murders and the cops getting shot up. You wanna call long island a dump? sure, you can do that… but ive been to the burbs of philly and the burbs of NYC and trust me man, it’s the same shit. Same boring people doing the same boring shit. You know it, i know it. Philly is the same, whiney red-headed step child that Baltimore is… NYC the greatest city in the world, so let’s not play any games. Save your animosity for the mets, don’t bring it on NYers, because i’d be happy to slap a bitch to prove my point. dig? good.

I dont want to hear anybody say the phrase “bulletin board material”. So your telling me that Hamels saying the Mets are choke artists is going to make them play and try even harder then they were going to in the first place? give me a break

Its a 162 game season, and the two teams play eachother 18 times, im pretty sure that that both teams want to win and demolish the other every single team out, no matter what they say, the Phillies could say that the Mets are the most talented and explosive team in the Majors and the Mets are still going to want to win at all costs, im sick of “bulletin bored material”.

People, when Hamels said “the last two years they have been choke artists”, was he lying or saying something that every other baseball fan in America already knew? So why is it a big deal?

The best “bulletin bored material” was when the Eagles played the Pats in the Superbowl in 04′ and Belichek read the Patriots the Eagles parade plans on Broad Street. Haha I’m a Eagles/Philadelphia sports fan, and hate the Pats, but that was awesome. haha
