Ibanez Gets His, Pitching Gets Clocked To Start Spring

Posts, Spring Recap
Raul Ibanez collected his first RBI of the spring in the Phillies’ 8-2 loss to the Pirates to open the exhibition season. Ibanez stroked a single through the infield in the third inning.
John Mayberry Jr. collected the second RBI with a single in the ninth. Scoring on that play was Jeremy Slayden, who had the best game with a 2-for-2 effort, including a double. The bullpen had the worst game – probable 2009 non-factors Joe Bisenius and Scott Nestor looked horrendous in their inning each. Otherwise, Jamie Moyer threw a solid two to start, Joe Blanton surrendered a run and the group of Joe Borkowski, Jake Woods and Mike Koplove pitched hitless ball in their innings.

oh god, that’s it, season’s over. This team sucks I can’t believe we’re going to try and repeat with this pitching staff…horrible. Amaro is the worst GM in baseball.
(we’ll see about 50 of these posts by May, might as well be the first one right?)

Good on. You can’t even say Bisenius or Nestor have lost their shots yet. That’s how early this is.

haha, Jimmy went to the wrong stadium for today’s game, had the wrong address in his GPS, so he called Charlie and got directions, but got there a little late, everyone game him a bunch of shit!
Cole says if he’s not ready for opening night, he doesn’t mind passing, said he always starts out SOOO slow. Ya gotta love these guys, looks like nothing’s changed, WFC’s!!!!

Hamels will pitch opening day, he was just exercising some humilty concerning the other 4 pitchers in rotation.
I brought in my portable radio to listen for a bit at work and I tuned in just in time to hear the scrubs get lit up. But hey, it’s spring training. The sound of a live baseball game was enough to make me happy today.

I’m rooting for Koplove. He’s a local guy and went to U of Delaware, I believe.

Lets get Bisenius and Nestor off the 40 man roster and replace them with Koplove and Slayden.
