Jim Salisbury reports the Phillies have signed Chris Coste, Ronny Paulino, and JA Happ – all non-arbitration-eligible 40-man-roster players – to contracts that move the Phillies payroll to over $132.5 million.
Coste signed for $460,000, Paulino signed for $440,000 and Happ signed for $405,000.
Carlos Ruiz remains unsigned, but should earn a salary of about $500,000, moving the Phils payroll over $133 million.

Yea, don’t be stunned if we don’t sign one of those lefty relievers. Even if they can be had for 700kish.

Who would be “stunned”? The Phillies’ front office have indicated that there are no further expectation of any aquisition(s). To throw money at retreads for no reason other then stockpiling makes no sense anyway.

wouldn’t be shocked to see the phils retain 3 catchers on the roster, and use coste as a right-handed stick off the bench.
