it’s not the having him around at 75% that bothers me, it’s the fact that he coud be causing damage to the hip or potentially re-injure it. I mean it’s great that he’s recovering so fast but i get nervous everytime i read “utley is taking ground balls” or “utley is taking live batting practice”

Yes Amanda, I read that about Utley in my morning’s newspaper while enjoying my cup of java (smile). I do hope that Utley is listening to his doctor and manager Manuel on how to complete his recovery. As mentioned by other posters here, Utley’s hip injury is not to be taken lightly and does require considerable amount of time (4-6 months depending on the player’s response) for complete recovery. There is no need to rush and risk further injury. As one said here, I rather see Utley go graduately and miss one month and return 100% then to start the season at 75%.

Although I’m a little biased because of the world series last year and this guy being my favorite player…if he’s 100% healthy by opening day and in the line up…..this guy deserves to be #1 on the all-time Phillies because of his approach to the game and gritty toughness (he really won’t and doesn’t, but I’m just more and more amazed everyday with this guy)
