Call it early prognostication gone crazy, but I’m someone who can dig a Phillies-Red Sox fall classic in October 2009. Whether that’s the case, the Phils and Red Sox will meet today in Fort Myers. Game time is 1:05 p.m.
Fresh off an outstanding start against the Reds and potential opening night starter talk, Brett Myers will face the Sox. On the injury front, Jason Donald — ankle pain — should be set to play today. Greg Dobbs tweaked his hamstring and sat out yesterday; he should be fine. Marcus Giles has a sore elbow (hit by pitch) and won’t be available.

Is it just me Tim, or do I smell wishful thinking and presumptuousness?

What – Mets and Red Sox could be a WS preview, too. So could Pirates-Blue Jays. Anything is possible.

Hey I’m down in Clearwater. Any word on who will play in the legends game tonight?

Myers struggled with command today with 5 walks, 5 hits, 2 earned runs, 1 homer in 5IP against the Red Sox who were playing with most of theirs powerful starters. Madson allowed a solo homer in the 8th.

first, lets not get too far ahead of ourselves. As for the Mets being in the series? Well maybe this could be a preview of the 2080 WS. Tell me why again a Mets fan is on Phillies Nation? This isnt even linked to MLB.com, so its not like they found it that way. Seriousyl I dont understand why Mets fans get all pissed off when a Phillies fan makes a comment on MLB.com to an article posted on MLB.com, then its ok for them to come here. Typical…

Phils will not make the series if Myers is giving up a walk an inning.

Yep.. “anything is possible”; even the Mets vs Yankees that are picked as preseason favorites by some baseball writers. ;-)

I heard the West Chester native and 2008 4th rounder Peter Hissey dressed for Boston…must have been quite a day playing against his hometown team one year out of high school
