Todd Zolecki reports Cole Hamels threw long toss with Jamie Moyer today in Clearwater, and feels fine.
“I didn’t feel any tightness,” Hamels said. “I felt a little soreness from where the needle went in, but all the other areas where I was feeling tightness I didn’t feel anything. That’s great.”
Zolecki also reports Chan Ho Park threw a bullpen session today and might not be ready to face the Twins Saturday, as he tweaked his hamstring Sunday against the Cardinals. And Mike Zagurski is on his way back pitching against hitters; he thinks he could be ready for action within a month.

This is great news. Hamels seems very determined to make that opening night start. He’s going to do everything he can to make sure he is available that night.
Also, I didn’t know Park hurt himself. Hopefully it’s nothing too serious, he’s been pitching very well thus far and at least in my opinion is the frontrunner for the 5th spot

Even when he was healthy, Zagurski wasn’t any good… give me the dude that is the best pitcher, I couldn’t care less which arm he throws with..
