last night in the wbc the US lost to Venezuela 10-6, so Venezuela wins the pool. Both teams are headed to LA for the Semis. US will face the winner of the Korea/Japan game which is tonight while Venezuela will face the loser of that game. Jimmy Rollins didn’t have a good game last night. Batting 3rd and being the shortstop, he went 1 for 5 with 2K’s and 7 LOB, along with his first error in the wbc. His BA in wbc is now .273. Victorino starting in RF and batting 7th went 0 for 4 with a walk, a run scored and 4 LOB. His wbc BA is now .250.

May I ask why the Phils are playing teams they usually play in the regular season ie Braves, Marlins, et al?

I do believe in pummeling the fish, don’t get me wrong.

Left-hander Jamie Moyer threw six scoreless innings in a Minor League game at the Carpenter Complex. He allowed three hits, one walk and struck out six. Also I won’t be able to do the updates today cause i leave at 1pm today. It’s a monsoon out in Jupiter,Fla. Thunderstorms are in the forecast. The US play on Saturday I think or Sunday. For the marlins Chris Volstad takes the mound and also Chris Coste said he’s feeling some stress about the backup spot because he’s been injured and hasn’t been getting much at bats and also today is the first time he will be the startin catcher in a grapefruit league game.

Because the those teams are also in the grapefruit league and i think the mets have played the braves like 3 or 4 times. Another thing also is that Scott Lauber pointed that the phils are making a rare visit to Jupiter,Fla to play the Marlins so not bad at all.

I know Robert Mosebach and Brad Lidge are also slated to pitch today along with I think Clay Condrey. Hopefully the phils win today and Blanton along with Condrey,Lidge and Mosebach have good peformances along with the players. Go phils and cya tom when the phils take on st.louis at 1:05pm. The phillies will stay here tonight because the cardinals spring training home is the same as the marlins cause they share but both teams have different offices for their management and lockers for their players.

i don’t know, but every time i see a comment from him i picture rick fox sitting at a computer, wearing his lakers uniform while giving us updates.

i appreciate his updates during games, though, even if it’s not really coming from the former laker.

    Filling in for Rick F:

Score is 0-0, in the 5th inning.

Joe the Lumberjack pitched an incredible 5 innings, JUST ONE HIT, and 3 strikeouts. His era now is 2.45. Sweet.

Meanwhile, the Phillies have 2 hits (Donald and Jenkins) and 1 fielding error by Giles, who is playing 3B.

I think Giles is a double agent for the cheating braves.

he may be one of those chipper jones sicko-phants

Larry Anderson has to be the funniest radio commentator there is in my hirsute opinion.

this maybe unfair to say given the fact donald is playing 2b,ss,3b on any given day but the errors are starting to be a habit anyone know this kids history in this department? is it a problem or just the fact he is all over the field and can’t get comfortable in any one spot?

LAST YEAR EATON WAS OUR #3 OR 4 STARTER ON OPENING DAY
THIS YEAR BLANTON IS OUR #4
    CAN YOU SAY REPEAT!!!!!

I don’t know him and moyer may be interchangeable at the 3 and 4 depending who the 5th starter is. If it’s Park then Blanton’s our 3 and Moyer 4, if it’s happ it’s Moyer than Blanton. But either way Blanton’s addition to the rotation definitely puts us far and ahead better than the start of last year. And Ibanez’s ability to hit to all fields makes him a superior hitter than Pat, we’ll see how suspect his glove is come Opening Day I don’t think we’re losing much in the field between Pat and Raul. Raul’s quicker that’s for sure, and yea we can laugh at that awful throw he had in Yankee Stadium whenever that was but what about the diving play Pat Burrell made last year where he didn’t come up with the ball and he looked like Manny Ramirez slipping and sliding to find the ball that was underneath him.
