If I recall correctly, Marson was the prospect the RedSox most wanted in the Manny trade rumors. No clue if that’s accurate in any way, but I’m a huge Marson fan regardless.

Marson – I predict he & Paulino will be your 2010 catchers. Coste will be traded before this season starts, Ruiz I think will be out of here after this season. Just a feeling.

Carrasco – mid-season call up will replace either Moyer Blanton or the 5th starter (whoever falters first)

Donald – too hard to tell. will get playing time this year to some extent with the big club, but not sure itll be for very long or how much. he could start the year here and then get sent down when utley & feliz return.

Mayberry – Im telling you guys, I agree. He will make this team out of camp and earn playing time as a reserve outfielder/RH bench bat. He has pop in his bat and can move around well enough to be a decent corner OF.

I don’t see Lou Marson making the team in any scenario. Ronnie Paulino was brought in either to be the back-up catcher to Ruiz, or should the Phillies decide to keep three catchers, Paulino and Coste would both back-up Ruiz and be right-handed bats off the bench. Either way Marson ends up going back down to AAA to put in a full year.

The play of John Mayberry is opening eyes. Mayberry, Jr. could be the power-hitting right-handed bat off the bench the team desparately needs. If Mayberry were to make the team it could mean that the Phils would only end up keeping two catchers.
