I just got a phone call, and I think what I heard was that Werth hit a 3 run HR… and that Mayberry is going to be awesome..?
can anyone confirm either of those things?

Don’t want to call maybe awesome yet but given a chance to tear up AAA he could progress to be an everyday wrecking ball in the majors.

The phillies tie the toronto blue jays 7-7. The phillies are now 7-10-1 in spring training while the jays are 8-7-1. Phillies got a run in the 2nd, 3 in the 5th and 3 in the 7th. Jays got 2 in the 3rd, 1 in the 4th, 1 in the 5th and 3 in the 9th. Phils get 7 runs 7 hits 0 errors 5 LOB. Jays get 7 runs, 9 hits 1 error 6 LOB. The Jays had a 4-1 lead at one point but the phils took a 7-4 lead to the ninth largely because of jayson werth’s 3rd homer of spt a 3 run shot. Unfortunately like the story has been a minor league pitcher loses it for the phils as joe bisenus allows 3 runs just like a few games ago when blaine neal blew a 2 run lead to the pirates. Afterwards neal was sent to minors. 3 doubles and a homer for the phils. 2 doubles and 2 homers for the jays.

Looks like Bisensius should go back to Double A he can’t get bench guys or AAA guys out to close a game.

Tonight Jimmy Rollins, Shane Victorino and the US take on Venezuela to determine the pool winner and the seeding for the semis. If US win they take on loser of Korea vs Japan/Cuba(elimination game tonight). If US lose they take on winner of Korea vs Japan/Cuba. Tomorrow the Phillies will be visiting the Florida Marlins at 1:05pm. Slated to pitch are RHP Joe Blanton, RHP Clay Condrey, RHP Robert Mosebach, and RHP Brad Lidge. Best players for each team Blue Jays: 2B Emaus 2 for 3, 2 rbi, 1 run, homerun. Phillies: CF Werth 2 for 4, 3 rbi, 3 runs, double, homerun. Tough tie cause had 3 run lead and another journey guy minor league let it slip. Oh well, its spt. Nice to see utley get a hit and the pitchers pitch nicely except for bisenius and happ who hurt his chances today. Moyer was supposed to pitch in a minor league game today so we’ll see later on. Tom marlins on board and blanton who’s looked great pitches along with lidge. Go phils and cya tomorrow.

Well, Jayson Werth came back from his “injury” swinging the bat pretty well, didn’t he?

Three years ago I met Mike Arbuckle, and he told me at that time, he thought that they weren’t that far away from seriously contending… that they would not “overpay” for any one piece just to put someone around Utley and Howard… and to “watch out for this kid Joe Bisenius”
hmmmm
