Want to watch the Phillies ring ceremony?
Visit www.mlb.com/live to watch the ceremony at approximately 2:20 p.m.
UPDATE from the Phillies: Each 14 karat white gold ring contains 103 diamonds, totaling 3.84 karats. The 103 diamonds represent the 92 regular season and 11 postseason wins for the Phillies in 2008. The top of the ring is crowned with a ruby inlay, topped with the Phillies’ signature “P” which is inset with diamonds. The title “World Champions” is written along the ring’s top and bottom outer rim. The left side of the ring features the player’s name and number atop and below the Liberty Bell. The right side of the ring depicts the World Series trophy rising out of Citizens Bank Park signifying the tremendous support of our fans, along with the initials of the two World Series teams and the number of games won by each team.

Did anyone else notice how loud the crowd cheered for Blanton? I love it… he’s really won over the fans.

2008 Phillies will forever be my favorite team/season of all-time. I don’t see what could possibly top it. Even a repeat wouldn’t do it I don’t think.

Pat looked completely overwhelmed by the crowd reaction and the emotion of it all. He had shades on but looked like he was crying. He was the only player to hug Gillick and Charlie. Very awesome day. Thanks for the link, Tim.

This is the last time we will ever have to say these words but seriously “F**k Adam Eaton.”
I can’t believe he had the nerve to show up. I wish Flash was there. His best days were definitely not with the Phils but he was a strong supporter of this team and the young pitchers. Eaton was a d-bag in every sense of the word.

Dave Montgomery invited him why wouldn’t he show up, Gordon, Seanez, and Taguchi couldn’t make it.

Same reason he didn’t go to the parade. He straight up said that he knew he wasn’t welcome.

Chase….I don’t know if Adam Eaton knows or cares what anyone has to say about him,but bottom line he “Contributed” in the 2008 season and he’ll always look at that ring as one that he “earned”.Oh and BTW,notice the sarcasm with the ” “

Did anybody else see right before the ring ceremony they showed Taschner wearing a ring-pop? absolutely hilarious, love the sense of humor if he did that on purpose.

Eaton did give them a half season of mediocrity last year, before he came apart at the seams in July. Phils went 8-11 in his 19 starts and he posted 10 quality starts.

The Phillies ring ceremony was incredible. Watching everyone get their rings sitting in CBP was an experience I’ll never forget.
Pat Gillick was tearing up the minute he walked out. Pat the Bat was also definitely tearing up. It was emotional.
Comcast SportsNet will be rebroadcasting the ring ceremony tonight. I’m not sure if it’s at 10 or 11 though.

I’m so tired of people waxing nostalgic for Pat and wanting to get rid of Ibanez. In just three games, I can already see that Ibanez contributes to rallies rather than killing them like Pat did. Take yesterday, for example. Raul pulled a 2-run homer to right to tie the game at 2. Then in the 7th, he stroked a low outside pitch to left (the other way) for a single that “kept the line moving” and the rally continued. If that was Pat, he would have probably rolled over that low-outside pitch for an inning-ending DP. Also, Raul is much faster than Pat could ever dream of being. Admittedly, he’s not what you would call a speed merchant, but I’ll bet he won’t ground into many DPs. Plus, he’s already thrown out a runner at the plate on a direct throw. Most of Pat’s “outfield assists” usually were the result of him throwing to Jimmy as the relay man and Jimmy throwing the runner out with his rocket arm…Pat’s moved on. Get over it, people! Raul has plugged Pat’s black hole in the line-up.

Doug D you are dead to me.
Dont you ever speak ill of Pat the Bat. For as many rallies he has killed, he has begun way more. Ibanez is a good piece to add to the team no one is denying that but he is no Pat. Pat brought more than just his play to the team. As far as speed check the stats, Pat had a better VORP than Ibanez last year along with that lets not act like Ibanez is much faster than Pat it is only a slight difference.
I can’t wait til we have to face Johan or other stellar leftys and we are begging to have Pat’s right handed bat back in the lineup
When its the ninth and we are down a run to the Mutts we will miss our lovable MetKiller the most.
