The problem is that instead of enjoying good baseball.. people go to the games looking to start fights, backed by 5 of their toughest Frat brothers..

I don’t mind if Mets fans clap when their team scores a run or something.. but its the fans that jump up and start screaming when Jose Reyes gets a base hit.. SIT DOWN A$$HOLE!!!

And that’s how it starts.. if you behave yourself, its fun to talk throughout the game with fans of opposing teams.

The rain will prevent some from being drunk 3 hours prior to the first pitch, but they’ll be problems down there tonight without a doubt

The best game I’ve been to in the series, i wasn’t able to make any last year, but it was the Abreu game winning dribbler that Aaron Heilman threw to the Right Fielder. God that was awesome, the defeated look on all those Muts fans’ faces it was classic, specially when it’s a game winner against them of all teams.

It’s still going to be a madhouse tonight, with plenty of:

- mets fans standing up in front of their section and waving their hats every time one of their players does anything remotely good
- some phils fan who is way too drunk will aggressively try to defend his city’s honor
- security will break up potential fight, only to be back one inning later after the mets fan got a beer thrown on him
- at least 3 concourse scuffles, with at least one involving what appears to be 5 dudes and 40 blue shirted security guys
- a group of 5 well behaved mets fans will get screamed at by phils fans trying to bait them into a fight

And that my friends is why I bought tickets to every Mets series at CBP this year. The entertainment never stops ! Actually the shame of it is that they are usually good series but everyone takes the rivalry way too seriously and far and it just ruins the good times baseball is supposed to be about.

I like the700level website, but its really hard to read and doesn’t have much flow.. that is the only blog I read besides this one..

Gonzo is pretty good though, but the bottom of that page drives me nuts

Ryan, that was an awesome article from Gonzo. He usually has good stuff in his column. That was no exception. The Met fans completely missed the sarcasm. And I just went to Queens last weekend for a wedding and although there are some nice pockets, it basically is a shantytown of autorepair places. It’s no suprise to me that Joey Buttafucco resided there.

Hopefully Ruiz will be back with the team tomorrow to help out behind the plate. I just hope that Coste is sent down and not Marson, Marson can learn true catching from Ruiz who’s been a catcher for a longer period than Coste who just truly learned the position 3 years ago.

I’m a die hard Mets fan but enjoy reading this blog to catch up on some Phillies news (I have a couple of Phillies on my roto team). I also enjoy watching the Phillies (I don’t root for them of course) since they are a very exciting, well balanced team full of players with hustle and emotion (something the Mets, unfortunately, lack). Congrats on the World Series last year, by the way. This is a big rivarly, but still think the Braves-Mets rivalries of the late 90s and Mets-Cubs/Mets-Cards rivalries of the 1980s were bigger. I don’t sense the same intensity leading up to this series, at least up here in NY — I agree with Tim that this feels more like any other series, maybe because our players are lethargic?

Mets Fans.. outside of Beltran and Santana. who is playing well right now?

I’ve only seen bits and pieces of Mets games so far, so I have no idea who is having a nice year outside of what the stats show…

I know Perez is struggling, how is the rest of the pitching/hitting so far.. anyone we should be careful with this series?

Obviously you guys know that Utley and Ibanez are hitting well. Moyer has looked good (better) his last few outings
