No doubt Gibson was a strikeout and much more rounded pitcher; so yes, we cannot capmare apples and oranges. But remember in Gibson’s day ball parks were much larger and all of the things Brian said are true today. Expansion had not much to do with it.

I can’t even answer that its too weird a statement, You can’t compare the era. there were no water down talent when gibson pitched, Right now there are so many teams who don’t have a number one. if you watch the game today sarge touch on it .There are how many more teams now then when gibson pitch. They have expansion and water down the talent.

So is it Moyer’s fault that Gibson could not pitch into his 40s like he can?

Moyer has done something very special especially in this era of baseball, pitching into your 40s and continuing to be successful so don’t try to tear down his 250 wins.
