natslogoWashington Nationals (13-33) at Philadelphia Phillies (25-20)
Ross Detwiler (0-0, 2.45 ERA) vs. JA Happ (2-0, 2.60 ERA)
Time: 7:05 p.m. at Citizens Bank Park, Philadelphia
Weather: Possible thunderstorms, 77
TV: Comcast SportsNet

So the last one didn’t end well, did it?

Brett Myers might be lost for the season after a bad start against the Marlins and another series loss at home for the Phillies. Now good friends the Nationals come in for a weekend set. JA Happ will try and continue his strong pitching tonight against fellow youngster Ross Detwiler.

Your gamenight beer: Pete’s Brown Ale is a beer from the Bear Republic Beer Co. in California. It’s made with molasses and brown sugar, so it’s bitter, slow and thick. Eat a steak with a sweet potato with this one.

Go Phillies!

Well, we’re still looking at a potential Happ win.

But the Marlins aren’t doing our work for us with the Mets.

Dobbs? Dobbs!!!?? No! Not with the bases loaded. Give him his practice out when the bases aren’t loaded.

This is one of those games where you know the Phils are going to lose because they keep pissing away their chances.

not sure if any of you are Sixers fans but they hired Eddie Jordan as their new coach.

well if nobody was paying attention to the minors tonight Kyle Drabek pitched his first career 9-inning complete game shutout with 5 hits and 7 strikeouts and only one walk

Good job Madson, way to turn that lineup over. Why in the world are we having problems with this bottom part of the lineup

Victorino with another hit, we can’t trade him.

    OK, that’s a good start…

Also good job by the Sixers to hire a werthless Eddie Jordan. That is a bad choice. I guess when you spend all that money on softy Brand you are a horrible team.

Werth is worthy of being on the team

    ugh. dp.

well they had to take happp out cuz he isnt stretched out enough and he was at 95 pitches, and you cant blame a loss on the pitching cuz come on we have had 15 hits. Also still would like to point out the Drabek performance because he def is looking like the type of guy that could be a number 1 for us in about two years or number 2 behind hamels

woo hoo! Thank god for lousy Nats fielding!

    OK, time for RAUUUUUUL!

Drabek is going to be a stud. Which is great cause Carrasco pretty much sucks at this point.

Agree with you there Keith B. Happ had to go, he was at his current max for pitches and like I said, Manuel wanted him out with the lead still intact. If we lose, its because we blew a save and didn’t take advantage of the chances we had at the plate. Simple as that.

you cant give up on carrasco yet cuz he is only one year older then drabek and is two levels higher, i know he has struggled but he is coming back around 4 er and 14 strikeouts in his last 13.2 IP. Also, Knapp pitched 6 good Innings again only 2 ER, and michael taylor 4-5, homer and 4 RBIs

and now Werth is up and not going to threaten to do anything. damn, i was hoping raul would be able drive howard in there.

just to clarify about not blaming the pitching, i meant for having it so close right now, you cant expect your middle relievers to be perfect unfortunately. I know we all do but its just not likely.

    that is if he isn’t traded . . .

    WERTH-LESS! Two more LOB.

    LIGHTS OUT LIDGE TONIGHT?

I got you Keith. I knew what you meant. You are right. It’s not really fair to expect your relievers to go 9+ outs without giving up a run.

Releasing Jenkins is increasingly looking like a bad move…
