Citi Field welcomes the Phillies.
The spacious, character devoid, stretched-out new home of the Mets has been open for almost a month, and so far it’s chewed up more potential home run balls than the Vault has allowed. That could be trouble for the homer-happy Phillies, but there’s already trouble: The man on the mound tonight.
Johan Santana owns the Phillies (2-0, 2.85 ERA in six starts). He faced them five times last season and gave the Phils fits. Still, a couple hitters can hit him. Ryan Howard is .429 against him with two longballs. Raul Ibanez is .318. Jayson Werth is .313. Still, to beat the Mets at Citi, it’ll mean more small ball than usual.
Chan Ho Park was waxed by the Mets Friday night, and has the opportunity to rebound tonight. He’ll need to – his job might be on the line.
Chase Utley’s status? There are two lineup cards currently out there – one with Utley, one without Utley. We’ll know soon.
Your gamenight beer: I’m thinking we’ll need something strong tonight. So go with Immort Ale from Dogfish Head, our friends from Delaware. Immort Ale is a syrupy-flavored beer that clocks in at 11 pecent alcohol by volume, so drink one at home. Eat something big with this – maybe some steak, rice and bread.

This is a step in the right direction. Most people on this planet are scum bags…why bring race into it unless you are a scum bag racist like the rest of them. Honestly, you seem like a nice guy and are just wired the wrong way. If you have black and hispanic friends do you think they would appreciate you calling Carlos Beltran a spick or having this conversation with me all night? I guarantee they wouldn’t. The point is stay away from scum bags whether they are white, black, green, hot pink, what ever. Call them scum bags not racist slang. It’s wrong and uncalled for.

First off Phil,thanx for the good word.I know there are some Phillies fans who act like morons as well as Mets fans.Kevo is a special case.Now although I feel bad for your friend an his situation.I wish that on nobody.Personal experience had a gun to my head and robbed 14 years ago…but I refused to be prejudice,I just wish they’d bought some bad acid and are unknown burried in Potters Field.But to call out on Blacks,Hispanics,Whites,Native Americans,Hitler Youth,ETC is simply uncalled for.Now I know everyone in here has prejudices and have used the “N”word every now and again (I know I have).I’ll put this out to you in another way,I cut my arm off and you do the same we both bleed the same color.Can’t you see we are all human in here,we may hate each others teams,but the vast majority of those I deal with in here I have respect for and Verse Vice.Now Kevo…I think its time you turn in your membership card to the Human Race and BOTTOM LINE If you have nothing nice to say,don’t say it at all.Thats something you should have been told a long time ago instead of watching Archie Bunker.Oh and Have A Nice day.

“You’re” is a contraction of the words “you” and “are”. E.g.: You’re ignorant.

phil,
i came on here to read about baseball and saw this arguement going on. i tried to stop it with what i thought was an intelligent point saying that racism is wrong, but unfortunetly it exists. you then said that i did not make an intelligent point. Later, you said that racism does exist but you wish it wouldnt. That is what I said. I am very particular about my intelligence and it being insulted, so while you are defending people about insults, stop throwing out your own insults. oh and by saying that many of eagles fans are asinine, that is discriminating against a group, which is the same thing a racist does, so stop being a hypocrite because that is what you are doing. GO PHILS BEAT THE METS TONIGHTS
