Good news is that Charlie realized that Tashner is unreliable and terrible. JC will be back in 17 games and I assume Tashner will never be heard from again.

Morgan,
I follow the minors quite a bit as well, I know Savery pitched a rain shortened game but still pitched 5 gave up 1 run. He has not given up more than 4 runs which he did 2x, I know his heater is not above 90 right now, but he was nota overwhelming power pitcher to begin with, that was a myth from the start he had nice breaking stuff and is a smart pitcher. Still a starter until at this point, needs to go deeper in games but I sure he is on a schedule too

I think Geoff was right about Lidge. He has to be hurting. I still think he has it, but if he is really pitching this poorly, he has to be hurting.

i think the best case with moyer is he pulls a mike schmidt and retires mid-season. i’m sorry to say that but i think its true.

I think Moyer would be reliable in the pen, cause the hitters can’t adjust if he comes in for one inning or 2

One day we go from having the best announcer to even live, to having one of the WORST.

Finally, you should look at Happ’s body language after the game, looks disappointed even though he won, gotta be tought when you are a starter most your career and think you are given a shot then taken

Rollins, Victorino, Utley and Howard need to have a chat with Ibanez and maybe Ruiz and Feliz.

Jeff, he still should be proud. He will get his day soon here. I predict Hamels and Happ will be co-aces this year. Heck, Myers will eb if he keeps up his good work too!

Wow, I had to follow this one on the blackberry. I’m guessing a minor leaguer will pitch one of the games tomorrow.
I’m worried about Lidge, nice job by the rest of the pen tonight.

I agree Jeff, he looked pretty down for just getting the W, sucks for him not getting the start tomorrow.
I’m going to a funeral tomorrow and I’m afraid I’ll miss the first game. Does that make me a bad person?

I just really want them to get this rotation set. Even if they think the one they have now is what they want then show it!

they needed that. Im glad Happ got the win – thats a fine consolation that he turned in 2 scoreless and recorded the win after losing his start tomorrow.

I also think Lidge needs to adapt. Noone swing at the slider now…gotta reestablish his fastball.

Hamels
Myers
Happ
Park
Blanton
if Blanton could get himself together, could turn around

Lidge has been and is my favorite player. Something is wrong with him. I won’t say it is physical or mental, but something is getting him. Maybe a week at AAA – just a week to experiment with his slider and fastball if it is mental.

I slept through Lidge’s performance, but in watching those replays, it looks like he’s doing something funky on that left leg.
