He has only given up 9 runs in 35 innings of work He has only had one outing where he gave up 4 the rest were 2,1 or 0. I think that is pretty dominant.

I follow the farm quite a bit, I think its fun to watch especially since for once or farm is actually growing nicely!!

Drabek is playing awesome right now in A ball, I think he will be moved to AA soon, and maybe AAA by the end of the year. If he does that, than he would be in line to challenge for a starting position. Do I think he will, I have no idea. He is by far having the best season right now of any pitcher in the organization. Don said it right, they will probably wait till he hits 50 innings before thinking of promoting him. Then they will reevaluate him after another 50-60 innings to look a at further promotions. Yeah I know he has had Tommy John surgery, I have always thought that he is the best talent the Phillies have in the minors, just hit some bumps along the way. I think he will be the Right handed stud next to Hamels for years to come. And no it will not be this year, you are exactly right and I wasn’t trying to imply that, just making an observation, optimistic one at that, that he could be in camp next year and the young staff can be pushing sooner than we think.

I mean Myers, Moyer, Park are all gone I believe after this year. That leave Blanton, Hamels, maybe Happ, Maybe Carrasco, maybe Kendrick, Maybe Worley, Maybe Stutes, and of course Maybe Drabek. I doubt that they will go after a big name in free agency. I think the organization sees that their talent at pitcher in the farm system is impressive.

I would say that Happ will be the first inserted in the staff, then possibly Kendrick, then Carrasco, after that it would be whoever is pitching best in AAA or AA

He’s still young.. and they really like him, otherwise he wouldn’t have been called-up for some big games last year.. he wouldn’t have stayed on the postseason roster.. and they wouldn’t have kept him around on the 25 man roster this year.

All indications were that they fully expected him to out-pitch Park for the 5th job.. and Happ did pitch well, but Park was a little better.. and since they told Park he had a chance to win that 5th job (which is THE reason he signed with us), they couldn’t go back on their word..

If they would have, Free Agents of next year, and years after would look at the Phillies in a negative light..

I think they’d be more willing to give Park/Happ, Kendrick, Carrasco a spot-start over anyone else on the list..

Those day-night double headers for makeup games and stuff.. we’ll see some of those guys this year at some point

Anyone been paying attention to the minor leagues at all. Kyle Drabek is absolutely dominating at A ball, they need to move him to Reading or Lehigh. I want to see him challenged, and maybe ready to move to the rotation next year.

Carrasco has been lit up in his last 2 starts, and Stutes has been holding steady and solid in Reading. Lets start getting the best performing pitchers to Lehigh so we can challenge them! Savery has been average in Reading, thinking he is a frontline starter would be overly optimistic, I think Drabek and Carrasco are the real deal, Stutes the jury is not out on him yet. Worley in AA has been solid as well. I think we will see some of them make a spot start or 2 come June and July.

We love our team when they are bad and good, we are mad at them when they lose and we love them when they win, We are Fanatics and that is the definition of what a fan is.

A Philles season is a rollercoaster for a Phan, used to be a nosedive when I was little, but nonetheless we love them.

Mets Fans are jealous and bitter and primarily hateful at least the ones that spend time out of their day to post here. Come on go to your blogs and talk about how you want to hurt Victorino or Utley. Maybe thats what makes them feel better, who knows.

Baseball is a gentleman’s game, and yes their are times when players go overboard, but wanting to have your players go after other players as retaliation is stupid, need to watch another sport, the players don’t think like that only ignorant fans.

Bottomline is all outsiders are welcome if you want to talk baseball and such, but to come here and spread your unispired rants and insults, you are wasting breath…… the answer to any of those are this….. WE ARE WORLD CHAMPIONS!!! and there is nothing you can do about it!!!

Reyes is just too flashy for me.. I don’t know how I’d feel about Rollins is he wasn’t on the Phillies.. and I’ve said how I feel about Victorino..

Lidge said last year that coming into the clubhouse and having Rollins make comments through the media really got the team fired-up… in a good way. It made them realize that it was time to get going.. you can have some fun, but winning is more fun than anything else

Werth can also be as good as he wants to be. This guy could hit 25hr with 90 rbi and hit .290 easily if he stayed focused.

But its all a wash if Moyer is going to throw soft serve meatballs like that.
