Two Phillies had special days Tuesday, and they both certainly celebrated in big ways, leading the Phillies to a 10-5 win over the Padres.
Antonio Bastardo’s major league debut was as good as you’d want — six innings, four hits, one run (an Adrian Gonzalez home run), five strikeouts, one walk. He threw a lot of fastballs, staying composed early despite a patient Padre attack, then extinguishing the opposition late when they started hacking. He threw 102 pitches, 63 for strikes. A fine outing, indeed, and worthy of a few more starts.
Bastardo had a four-run lead when he took the mound, thanks mainly to Ryan Howard’s clutch two-run double and Raul Ibanez’ follow-up single. Then it became the Ibanez show, as the man celebrating his 37th birthday swatted two no-doubt home runs, his 18th and 19th of the season. His five RBI puts him at 51 for the season … after 50 games.
Greg Dobbs added a home run in the fifth inning, his second.
After Bastardo’s outing, Chan Ho Park struggled and allowed four runs in the seventh inning. Then Chad Durbin had trouble in his second inning, the ninth, but didn’t get tagged, as Ryan Madson relieved him for the one-pitch finish. Not the best of finishes, but hey, taken. The Phillies are now a season-best 10 games over .500 at 30-20, 2.5 games ahead of the rest of the National League East.

that being said Peavy is not worth the money or the prospects look elsewhere.
Not sure Halladay is on the block but wow, I would give up the stadium for him LOL
He is For Real. but of course I think certain prospects are untouchable
Drabek being one.
