Rollins definitely hit the low point of his year so far tonight. I know that Utley is quiet and does not say much but you would think that he would be yelling at Rollins to get the sure out at first base on that late flip to second base. A little leadership would not have hurt in a situation like.

Park has been part of the problem when he was a starting pitcher.
Since he has joined the pen, he became a solution and a weapon for Charlie. If you take a look at the heart breaking Baltimore game, Charlie used Park as a setup man. NOT Romero. I think today’s game, Charlie wanted to get an inning out of Romero since he hasn’t been used much and bring in Madson if we score. I think Romero just need to throw strikes same problem park had when he was a starter.

mike-2.07 WHIP, yeah that’s real bad…he’s a set-up man alright, he just sets-up you with baserunners these days. In this case Park . If JC still struggles like this once Eyre returns and Eyre looks decent, then JC should spent some time in Reading to work on his location.

what body language? You better watch the game again because I didn’t see any. As matter a fact, they didn’t even show the guy on tv after the play.
Obviously, you don’t like the guy period. You are just making excuses to stone the guy.
What is amazing is that everyone is talking about the 8th inning.
The bottom line is that phillies were losing because offense didn’t show up. We did have a chance bases loaded with no outs.. But you know what happened there. JC is another problem. Last 3 outings he is either getting hit or walking people. the guy has WHIP of 2.07.
Not ACCEPTABLE as a setupman.

I watched Mike and its not only the results its his body language. When adversity strikes he turtles up. Hey, when he’s dealing he’s ok. When there is a hiccup you’re looking at a crooked number that inning.

cxl72, I just loved that after being a hero with the HR, Taylor was upset at himself for the other 2 at bats (fly out and hit into a double play). Sounded like someone who REALLY wants to improve.

Werth has never had an intelligent at bat. He is what he is, streaky. Still, the ONLY runs early in the game were by Pat. Dammit.

Werth’s play was terrible and probably cost us the game there. That was our chance to take control. He’s a sloppy hitter and never has a plan. One pitch he’s swinging on one knee the next its a HR. I’m a Werth fan but I certainly never look for an intelligent at bat from him.

I agree JeffS that Spill would be a throw in. Marquis fits in with our other mid-season acquisitions of Moyer, Lohse and Blanton.

I wouldn’t mind Marquis, though. Proven himself in a fly ball HR ballpark. But why would the Phils want another OF, who they wouldn’t be able to fit on the 25 man roster?

That is the dumbest trade rumor. The last thing the Phils need is another OF in their system. Besides not knowing how to get Mayberry enough bats, they have 3 of the best OF prospects around.
