Eaton would probably suck as the Phanatic’s chauffeur. Yet the Phanatic would win the Mascot World Series, because he knows, no matter what, he can’t suck as much as Eaton, so there’s less pressure there.

Eaton was released by the Os, methinks. I’m sure Eaton would somehow make the Phillie Phanatic suck if he were hired as the fanatic.

The fans are good people, Tracey. I remember when the Phillies stunk, and I do not mean tonight, I mean last place stunk. I posted a nice note to nats fans, if they fix their pitching, all of us better watch out, they CAN hit.

j reed – I hope you are wrong. Just remember this – last June 13 we lost it for a month and the Mutts took first. We came back, but it too 2 months. We are WFCs and we can do it again. Why do I feel a repeat though

I have a friend who is a Nats fan. She had a pool early in the season: bet on when the Nats will get into double-digits. They got into double-digits, but I don’t think they’ll be over 20 by the All-Star Break. You don’t tease those fans; it’s like kicking a puppy.

But if Lidge is healthy, Madson doesn’t need to close. If Romero hadn’t been suspended fifty games, he and Madson can combine for the setup. Eyre and Condrey don’t need to be blown out if Romero isn’t suspended. Anyone wanna bet Eyre blew out his calf from overuse? And if Hamels doesn’t have those s***-luck starts in late April against the Nats, again, bullpen overuse isn’t an issue. Many of our pen woes are man-made…but in some cases, we’ve just had God-awful luck this year. Sometimes I wonder if Adam Eaton was our good luck charm.

And has Charlie always played no doubles in the 9th inning? Or have I just noticed it more because I just catch more games now that I don’t work every night?

No, they were sulking on MLB dot com. You should read it. The Yakees, Phillies and Braves fans (for some reason) piled on. Nice to see Phillies and Braves fans putting the rivalry aside for a time. I am beginning to like Braves fans now LOL

mike d.- he’s a high ball pitcher and with only 2 pitches, they know the change-up is coming so they hold off…so when the fastball comes they might swing a little later than normal thinking its a change-up
