If the Phillies had ponied up the cash, they could have had Rick Porcello pitching for them in the majors instead of Joe Savery who might become a back end of the rotation-type starter.

On Baseball America, they posted a list of the 2008 draftees who have performed the best and #13 on that list is Jason Knapp. Unfortunately, #12 on that list is Christian Friedrich, the LHP the Phillies passed up in order to draft Anthony Hewitt.

Geoff they have Valle, D.naud, marson. Naughton. they have catching. and just sign a high school kid out of florida Mitchell. The player you want them to sign is colvin he is a high school kid in the low 90′s already, but a lot of upside.

Is it a lock that the majority of people think Drabek is considered more “untouchable” than Knapp. Frankly, I wouldn’t trade either. The potential of a 2011 rotaion of Hamels, Drabek, Knapp, Carrasco, Savery could be special.

FYI – The Lakewood game with Delmarva was a double-header, which is why the first game was finished in 7. Lakewood won Game 2, 6-4. Trevor May, the Phillies 4th round draft pick from 2008, made his first start of the season and actually struck out the first five batters he faced. His final line of 3.2 2 3 3 5 8 was a bit of a mixed bag though. He also hit a batter in the 2nd.

From what I understand, he has been decent all season. I was a little surprised to hear that he is not thought of as a top prospect. Reading has a pretty stacked rotation

The Phillies better sign that catcher they drafted over slot. It looks like the catching situation behind Ruiz & Coste isnt so great after all.

Joe Savery could be a great trade chip.
