Eyre will probably more of the situational left-hander sent in there to get a lefty or two out. I really can’t see him closing….but who knows..

They have Eyre who hasn’t seen much action lately.. I think they’ll go with matchups to get through each game..

I agree Chuck… plus, the 8th and 9th innings could go with Madson pitching 1.1 innings, Romero 0.2, for example… Depending on who’s at the plate

Yeah…Madson and Romero were both 8th inning guys. I could see a scenario where Romero closes sometimes….depending on the situation and how long Lidge is out. But he’s really more of an 8th inning guy.

I think that Condrey, and JC have looked good also, but the 8th inning has not been their roles up to now, Like I said I have faith in Madson closing, but none of the these other guys have ever been in that roll, I am not saying they can not do it just wondering if they have the make-up for it.

Lidge isn’t too hurt.. which is nice.. there isn’t much more to talk about after that.
They need Madson to step up, and then the other guys to also step up.

Condrey has been awesome (or better than expected) all year.. Romero has looked good so far..

Don’t know why the Hamels talk on a Lidge post, but whatever
My concern is not having Madson close, it is who pitches the 8th, JC? Condrey? Durbin? That is my big question for the next two weeks, IMO none of those three have shown the consistency to to shut people down, especially coming in with runners on, I hope, and have faith the Brad will return to 100% and that the next 12 days we can get to Madson in the 9th with a lead.

If we win one of the next two games, we leave with a 2 game lead.. and manage a 6-4 record in a 10 games road trip including LA and NYM.. win the next two.. and its 7-3 road trip

That is acutally the biggest game the Mets have won since like 2006.. so you can’t blame them for celebrating.

I heard Reyes has some great new handshake-&-dances in the works for whenever he gets healthy!!!

I THINK that Hamels should have pitched on regular rest.. which would have been last night, and then allowed him to pitch Sunday against the RedSox at home too.

BUT.. he seems to do well on extra-rest.. and it doesn’t matter who the wins are against.. each game counts.. so if we win tonight.. and in his start vs. Toronto (who ain’t too shabby).. then we can’t really complain about it.

Anyone know if we’ll see Halladay pitch? I’ve never seen him pitch in person.. and they aren’t on TV much either

Come on now guys! You really think I’m wrong? The game is over with now, so its history…But you honestly think Happ should of pitched lastnight over Hamels? Happ did pitch a decent game…Im not taking credit off his part. Happ has been above average and seems to be doing his job. Anyways noone can change my mind thinking it was poor management. Lets just whip the Mets ass these next 2 games, and call it a wrap.
