Eyre , after a rough start, has quietly been dominating over his last 15 or so appearances. What a great boon for the bullpen he’s been so far. And now with JC back, we can officially say that Scott Eyre has really helped us get through the suspension of our best lefty in the pen. He really stepped up bigtime!

Well good for him! I will sure miss him, but I know he has had a great time playing for this team and has contributed mightily. With J.C back though it is more of a luxury rather than a neccessity to have two solid solid lefty setup guys and a solid solid righty setup guy. I mean guys there is only one eighth inning ya know? Maybe we can have each of them pitch an out a piece in the eighth…Hahaha.

i’ll be proud to have scott retire as a phillie. he has fit this team like a glove both in his attitude and what he brings as a player to the bullpen.

I’ll miss him a lot if he does retire next year. At least he’ll be going out on top – having just made a significant contribution to winning 2 consecutive World Championships.

Didn’t Eyre lose his money in the Madoff scandal? His wife may want him to keep working. Maybe I’m thinking oof another pitcher.

It will be a sad day. He hasn’t been a Phillie long but he has certainly earned his spot in our hearts. I am glad to see that he is one of the guys that realizes when its time to hang it up and does so before his whole career goes down the tubes.

That’s going to be a sad day, one of the good guys for the game and the clubhouse. He’s a lefty specialist which means there will always be money out there for him to make if he decided to stay. But an understandable decision to spend more time with the family.
