Clay Condrey has been activated from the disabled list, and to make room, righty Tyler Walker was designated for assignment. Condrey landed on the DL on June 24 with a strained left oblique. He has a 4-2 record with a 3.71 ERA in 33 appearances.
Walker had filled in admirably for the injured Condrey, going 1-0 with a 1.64 ERA.

hopefully no one picks up walker and he goes to triple A. phillies could use him when call ups in september and october for post season. walker did a nice job for the phillies. he is a useful reliever.

Walker is a great relief pitcher and we need him. This seems like a dumb move. Why are we letting him go. Mayberry should be sent back to the minors so that we make room for Walker. We need all the pitching help we can get.

David,
If Raul wasn’t coming off the DL recently and /or there was a RH bat off the bench they probably would have sent John down but in the current situation they want his skills available. Otherwise all you’f have on the bench is Dobbs, Stairs, Bruntlett and Bako – while I too hope Walker is not claimed and stays in the system for a Sept call up (or if he’s needed again sooner) this was the move to make.

Chuck P: I’ve watched a few episodes of The Pen… it was actually kinda sad to see Taschner go…what a great guy.
