Today, Raul Ibanez rehabbed with the Lehigh Valley IronPigs. He played seven innings in his second rehab assignment. Ibanez went 1-for-2 with a walk, strikeout, and run scored.
His groin was tested by making plays in left field and sliding into second base. Ibanez said he felt fine.
As of now, the plan is that Ibanez will take tomorrow off and play on Thursday. Then, he will talk with the Phillies determining how many more rehab assignments he will need upon returning.
*Hat tip to loyal reader Ryan Kelly for the photo of Ibanez being interviewed by Mike Zambelli prior to today’s game.

It’s reassuring to read reports of Ibanez is playing without pain or discomfort as he rehabs with the Phillies farm clubs.
Hopefully, Ibanez is proceeding with caution and not try to do too much all at once. The Phillies (as well as the fans) are anxiously waiting to welcome him back, maybe before the All Star break.
