It seems like all around baseball buying teams dont want to part with elite prospects or even top prospects in these deals. It may force the sellers to accept quantity over quality. As in a lot of solid B prospects instead of two A prospects, etc.

I agree completely. You wait until th price comes down and he can be more realistic. Youre going to give up good pieces but you gotta hold onto every good one you can so you can be good in 3 years.

After saying he expects to be wowed to a point that exceeds the deals for Bedard, Santana and Sabathia Halladay isn’t going anywhere until Riccardi feels the pressure to move him and that’s certainly not now. As much as Halladay can help this team right now he’s not worth loosing the chance to win 3-4-5 years from now.

The price will come down. The Yanks and Red Sox don’t seem to be going hard after him, the Angels and White Sox don’t look prepared to give up the guys Toronto will want, the Rangers can’t afford him and the Dodgers won’t subtract from their major-league roster. Riccardi’s trying to take liberties with the Phils because he thinks he can, once Halladay starts upsetting things in Toronto more like he did previously will make him a more realistic target.

Little known facts;
Howards age is not right.
Both Utley and Hamels are not into this years team like last year’s.
Can you name the 5 Phills who did’nt wear their colors for the parade.
Jimmy Rollins wants out after this year.
Charlie will be let go if they don’t win the division.
Happ will be the new number one starter.
Ruben has “asked” all the players to shave clean…they won’t!
Halladay won’t come to Philly because of the air pollution around C/B field.
Ruben is more interested in a late inning man the bullpen is lame.
Charlie did not want Pedro….at all.

Also, Webb wont be around there much longer so they cant afford to lose Haren.

Ricciardo needs to start getting realistic about his demands because he still is way out of line with that The price may come down this week. This is the week where stuff starts to go down.

Dan Haren is ‘available’ if a teams willing to give up its farm, clubhouse and every other asset it has.

The D-Backs are built to be a serious contender in a couple of years time. Unless guys like Upton, Drew, Reynolds, Scherzer and all their other young players tank it Haren isn’t going anywhere for a long while.

Halladay’s only ‘available’ because he has no intention of re-singing with the Jays and Riccardi still isn’t prepared to be realistic about a deal. Haren’s locked up so Byrnes has no reason to discuss him, he’s not dismantling that team.

Discussing Haren’s as good as discussing Greinke or Felix Hernandez.

Pedro might be a diva, he might not be the pitcher he was, but the guys got a chip on his shoulder from his time with the Mets and boy if he really does buy into what the Phils doing he can help this team.

Yea, he can have some good games. The problem is even if he only lets up 3 hits, he is only going 5-6. Our Bullpen is used early too much. For the record: I do not think he is gonna be a success here. Love Pedro though as a personality and past career.
