What about Davis form the D’Backs? He is a lefty and 33 yrs old. He’s not a #1 or #2 but he’s having a real good yr. More innings than hits. Walks a tad high but he avgs 7 innings. He’s in his walk yr so no money to worry about next yr. He’d be a rental.

Mazinman- there is no pressure to trade Lee. He is relatively cheap to keep and the Indians probably feel like next year they will be a contender. The Rays have proven you can be a pretender one year and be a contender the next. I predict Lee is traded next year if the Indians aren’t contending or if someone comes along with a very nice offer.

Guys stop with trading for Wang. He hasn’t made it out of the 6th inning this year and that’s with the DH. We need a lot more help than than. He may have value down the lin, but we need help now. realiztically we’re looking at Meche, Penny(ship may have sailed) and Washburn with a small gimmer for Lee.

No Wang, No Wang, No Wang He can’t bunt, he can’t run and you sure has hell can’t even the ball out of the infield, I no he is a pitcher but he rounded third last year and hurt his poor little ankle, I saw him at Clearwater this year, with the Yanks and stood there like a friggin’ statue as the ball past him three times for an out, he sucks, he is a classic AL pitcher, can’t hit can’t run and sure has hell can’t even bunt No Wang, No Wang, No Wang

Wang still have two year contract left – not a rental pitcher. He got a good sinker and will be good fit in phllies small ballpark. With phillies defense and offense, Wang can win a lot of games for Phillies. Just give Yankees some good prospects we can afford it if Yankees really want to trade him. Or Rangers got a lot of good prospects in their farm system and will get him

As I have said before, I think that Wang would be an interesting project. I think he could do well in Philly but he needs to finish overcoming his issues first and thats the big question at the moment. Is the middle of a penant chase really the best time for that? It would make my Taiwanese friends who are also Phillies fan VERY happy though.

If and only if he continues improving he should be an ok pickup. I mean, I would still much rather have the likes of Lee or Halliday but if their teams are asking a ridiculous amount for them then its not worth it.

Well, I like Marson. I likes the fact that he gets on base. Is he good defensively? I heard he’s average. And he’s got no power. That said, I would take a good defensive catcher who can bat .270 with an OBP for .360 anytime. But Wang is no bum either.

Dipsy why don’t you go to lehigh Valley and see that Marson is hitting almost 280 he is a really good prospect, who had a slump after the phillies screwed him, by sending him down and keeping balko and coste. After the disappointment of being sent down he is on fire. Wang isn’t worth a catcher who gets on base like this kid. he is a near 300 hitter as a catcher.

Bruce, I don’t know that the Yankees are asking a lot for Wang. I gotta say I would not feel real comfortable with Happ as our #3 starter in the playoffs, which is how it stands right now, and even less comfortable with Moyer as #4 if we go with a 4 man rotation as we did last year. If we could get Wang for Donald or Marson or Savery, I’d do it. I don’t think that either one of those guys are considered the crown jewels of the farm system.
