I would also rather have Halladay, but Lee bolsters the rotation. So Im not going to sit here pissed off if that happens. Hamels and Lee are a damn good 1-2 and can win us another World Series.

And I agree Riccardi will be fired if this happens and he doesn’t move Halladay. But if Halladay doesn’t move and we get Lee that is another HUGE win in this scenario

Lee isn’t as good as Halladay… so while it would be nice to make a deal and hold onto prospects.. I would still MUCH rather have Roy Halladay..

JP RICCARDI will be fired ASAP if he doesn’t deal Halladay.. especially while turning down solid offers

It’s Halladay… Phils are publicizing their pursuit of Lee almost too deliberately. They are gonna put together a package of much lesser value for Cliff Lee that could get it done, publicize it, and hope JP gets on the phone with the goal of working something out.

Roy Halladay’s a great pitcher who’s pricetag is prohibitive, Cliff Lee is a very good pitcher looking as if he’s capable of sustaining a near if not elite level and if the Phils deal for him as the reigning Cy Young winner without giving up a top prospect then that’s a win. To me it says a lot about Shapiro’s understanding of the market compared to Riccardi, not saying the deals for Halladay and Lee should be the same but a night and day difference really does speak volumes.
