After a 90 minute rain delay, the umpires decided to postpone the Phillies and Marlins game.  The Marlins led 2-0 after one and a half innings.  The lead will be erased (will start at 0-0) once the game is made up.  No make up date has been announced, although late September is a possibility.

Also, Joe Blanton will start on Tuesday night.

I saw that interview with Taylor tonight. You can tell he hopes to be traded so he can play..Trade him Ruby and bring the gun.

I’m at the Iron Pigs game. Just watched Michael Taylor get his 1st AAA hit and in his next AB hit an absolute BOMB over the right field wall, which is about 25 feet high!!!!!

Phils catch a break and get to miss Josh Johnson. The Marlins only have themselves to blame, that game should never have even started.

Phils go for the sweep tomorrow!

Good luck to Coste, we’re all rooting for him.

Is that standard practice to erase the start of a game like that? I haven’t been following baseball long so that’s the first I’ve heard of that!

Jay, the game wasn’t official. The game has to be 5 innings for it to be official.

For them to keep the score, it would be a suspended game. I’m not sure the official ruling, but its when the home team is trailing and hasn’t gotten their last at-bats or its a tied game. See Game 5 of the 2008 World Series.

The Marlins go out to the west coast after Sunday, so that is why there is no dh. The Dolphins helped us out by giving us an off date in September. The original schedule had the Phils playing 20 straight games to end the season!
