Man, Hunter Stickland has given up 11 Dingers in 83 innings at A greenville. Good control with only 13 walks, but Diaz and Strickland isn’t great value.

You do not trade Happ, 89 mph fastballs, and above average off speed stuff with a mentor like Moyer, could and will be 2 or 3 at worse 3 4 starter in any rotation in the NL. So Miles you are smoking way to much if you would rather give up a proven pitcher, have you forgoten that he pitched very well out of the pen in a WFS. The kid is just going to get better. And you want to let him go and keep an unproven “Sure Thing” Pass some of what you are smoking over here cause I am having a rough day.

Sorry Miles….I respectfully disagree. How do you know Happ can’t put up these #s in the playoffs and into next year. And ,between Happ and Drabek, I trade Drabek…..he’s UNPROVEN. Not saying that I wouldn’t want to keep him or that i think we should just GIVE he away. But Happ is the one to keep. Again….it’s the you-can’t add-by-subtracting argument. And, by losing Happ, you are SUBTRACTING from the major league roster.

At this rate, if we called them and offered Brown/Carrasco/Carpenter for Zach Duke theyd call us back and counter-offer and say theyll send us Duke for Kendrick/Carpenter & Andy Tracy who would immediately be promoted to replace Adam LaRoche.

I really think the issue is going to be what else is in the deal, If Riccardi’s only asking for one of Drabek/Happ/Brown/Taylor then you have bite the bullet, it’s the multiples and then still more in a package which is a concern.

@Geoff and Chuck…. First of all I’m not trying to compare Happ and Kendrick as pitchers, I’m just noting that the situation could end up being similar. I love Happ, he’s been by far the best arm on the team. But can you honestly tell me with a straight face that you see him putting up these numbers in the playoffs and into next year? If the goal is to win another championship, he is expendable for Halladay.

Im starting to think this is about 90% bull. Riccardi is flip-fllopping around more than your typical politician does these days. And hes BS-ing BECAUSE of people like some of our fans here who want to trade JA Happ or Kyle Drabek for him. Hes counting on some desperate-a$$ team to come in and fall into a trap. Aside from that I dont think hes got a leg to stand on.
