I’m very surprised Carroll’s name hasn’t popped up. His contract expires, he’s not a type A or B FA and he’s 35. I would think Clevland should try to get something for him unless they’re trying to resign him?

Don M. – thanks. I haven’t looked there in awhile….it gets me pissed off when I do and see all these teams making moves and were not…granted we are sort of of hamstrung because of the wavier process but our bench and bullpen are hurting. I’m still hoping for a Jamey Carroll type – good small baller and a swiss army knife in the field

Dave Winfield was a bad choice for an on-air personality… who just happens to be an African American … I would say the same thing about Mike Schmidt, was a great player, and knows the game, but just doesn’t come off well on camera

Tony Gwynn has a great gig going as an NCAA Head Coach (San Diego State).. but used to do some stuff for Yahoo Sports .. and I loved hearing his take on things..

Kruk doesn’t sugar-coat stuff.. and gives insight to the “un-written rules” and “clubhouse laws” etc … I love the Kruker

Nomar talk was on mlbtraderumors.com

said that Phillies sent scouts to watch Nomar play this weekend, but he didn’t play in the 3 game series or someting?? He cleared waivers so can be traded to any team.. Todd Zolecki said earlier today he didn’t think it would happen… But it’s worth a shot if you’re the Phillies Nomar provides a better bat off the bench in Sept. But Bruntlett is still the best option in the organization as far as a backup ShortStop ..

John Kruk?….. I loved him as a player and on Best Damned. His on-air love affair with the Phils is great. And his plead for the Phils to sign Roy was greatly apprec. But he’s a member of the good old boys club…. He doesn’t seem to respect the opions of let’s say… those who don’t look like him…….. He had no choice this year when ESPN hired Dave Winfield(spelling may be off). Dave’s too confident a guy to put up with Kruk’s bs … Now Mitch Williams(he on-air love affair with the Phillies is great too)……I think he’s great…Very funny….Very entertaining…..And he’s certainly more reasonable than Mr. Harold “I’m never wrong” Reynolds… And I’m very proud of how Mitch picked himself off the matt…

Will – Husker Du….i haven’t listened to them in ages. Zen Arcade still a hardcore classic. I could never find it on cd… I still listen to Sugar…So do you know what “Mr. Writes a Good Song” Mould is up to these days….what about Hart and Norton? I’ve been out the loop for awhile

I don’t mind Morgan… sometimes, he can be a bit harsh. His harshness creates “Joe Morgan moments” of awkward silence. It usually starts out with Morgan saying something, Phillips responding and Morgan shooting whatever Phillips said down defending his own comment as an absolute certainty. I also feel like Morgan started the broadcast trend of explaining every pitch/hit that isn’t a homerun or a strikeout. It seems like every time a hitter gets a hit, it’s because the pitcher missed his spot and every time a hitter hits a homerun, it’s because he stayed back on it and drove through the ball. It gets old..

The Joe Morgan remarks are made in just… A lot of sarcasm mixed in, be I think anyone who has watched Suday Night Baseball on nites when it doesn’t feature the Phils will gree that most of Joe’s comments are way out in LF…Same with Chris “Barney Rubel”"(bad spelling) Bn. He try’s so hard to be funny that he comes off as very annoying… and very…..dry
