Philadelphia Phillies (59-43) at San Francisco Giants (57-47)
Cole Hamels (7-5, 4.42 ERA) vs. Barry Zito (6-10, 4.54 ERA)
Time: 4:05 p.m at AT&T Park
Weather: Partly Cloudy, 66
TV: MYPHL 17/ TBS
Twitter: Phillies Nation
The Phillies will try to even the series in the four game finale. The Phillies will send Cole Hamels to the mound, who has shown that he is a second half pitcher.
In his past five starts, Hamels is 3-0 with a 2.45 earned run average. In addition, he has thrown at least seven innings in two consecutive outings. It is very key for Hamels to go deep into a game, something the Phillies starters have been doing a lot lately.
Hamels will be opposed by Barry Zito, who has had an up and down year. There is no doubt that Zito is not the same pitcher he was in 2002 when he won the American League Cy Young award with the Oakland Athletics. He never lived up to his expectations when he signed a seven year, $126 million contract with the Giants in 2006. Zito is 2-1 with a 3.50 ERA in his career against the Phillies.
The Phillies need to start hitting with runners in scoring position. On the road trip, the Phils are hitting .103 (6-for-56) with RISP.

This beer, popular in the Czech Republic, and is named in honor of the king of Flanders. He is unofficially known as the patron saint (or dare I say, King) of beers. The beer however is a little less dramatic. The well-balanced light pilsner pours a rich head with a full golden color. It’s good enough to drink all night, maybe with some Chinese food. – By Brian

Andrew, I live in Northern Cal, and I’ve never been a big fan of Krukow and Kuiper, but they have gotten much better now that Bonds is gone.
If Bruntlett doesn’t get a hit today, he should get cut.

Yeah, the pitching is off to an ugly start, and the bats haven’t done much yet. This don’t look pretty.

Trust me Barry Zito is gonna throw a gem today. Phils will lose. If Phillies face us in playoffs doesn’t matter if Phils have home field advantage, giants are gonna destroy. Their pitching is too dominant. As much as Phils hit HRs thats how many they strike out in a game. Rocks swept phils in 07 and lost in WS. Giants are gonna sweep phils in 09 and win WS. 1-2-3 inning for Zito in 3rd. Bruntlett, Ruiz and Hamels = Average of .167BA. Wow. stinkers

Zito is maybe the worst SP in the majors. So yes with how the phils are he will probably throw a gem. He still sucks though and in the playoffs I will be loving to face him.
Timmy different story. Hes great.

Never mud wrestle with a pig. You both end up covered in filth, but the pig enjoys it.

I might have missed it, is Raul just resting? It looks like the entire offense needs a rest – but I feel a W today.
Hopefully, Raul and Victorino will be back in town this week…

He looked safe but either way, if you are trying to steal 3rd with 2 outs then it better not be a question as to whether you were safe or not.
