I would of given him a contract for this year only. Then traded him next season. His numbers are going down. His Ks are up. I never would fear him at the plate. He is batting poorly against lefties. The word is out. Just throw him low breaking balls and he will swing. No plate disipline. Howard will be so bad within a year or two phillies will be wishing they never gave him that money. He is overrated. I love him but cant watch him hit anymore.

I said trade him last night and everyone killed me. I am SOOOOO frustrated with watching him come to bat with men on base, only to hit a weak grounder to first or to strike out. I don't think he's going to produce the RBIs or home runs that he had last year. I also think Ibanez is returning to his true talent level after playing so far above his head for the first half. Every year I hear the same thing: this team will score runs. And every year we leave ridiculous numbers of baserunners. And every year we lose more than our share of pitchers' duels. I want some consistency in this supposed offensive juggernaut!!!!

Anyone want to trade Ryan Howard? Ruiz and Bako are just horrible offense of catchers. I would of tried for Martinez in the package with Lee. We might have had to give up a few more guys but Boston did not lose much. Brunlett is just a waste costing us a spot on the roster. Get rid of him. Stairs has not hit a homer a long while and his defense is digusting. My problem is our offense is to streaky. Utley is going through a slump but its going to happen. Howard strikes out way to much. Not patient at all. Its amazing when you watched these guys kill the ball now look at us. Its amazing. We need to win today 2-2 series. Moyer is pitching on Tuesday so you never know how many runs old man will give up.

I understand we got Lee and I love him. isPermaLink="false">http://www.philliesnation.com/?p=7072#comment-123808

Our 8th spot in batting order= probably the worst production from that spot in MLB. It seems the Cards got more from that spot when Tony use to bat his pitchers 8th until they got Derosa, Lugo and Matt Holliday. Bruntlett I app '08 but it's about that time for u. Your "Deadliest Catch Show" like beard will be missed. Bako: his D behind plate is much better than Coste was, but hits like Jamie Moyer. I have more faith in JA Happ than this guy. J-Roll and Howard need to give us more conts proff. abats. The s/o are killers. J-Roll you don't have the natural leg strength that Rickey had and used for power/speed. So just let it go. You've turned it around;put u still pop up way, way too much. Especially for a lead off guy. "You can't steal 1st base" Rollins HK use to say. You should have way more steals by now. Imagine how many more fast balls Vic/Utley would get if u reached base and stole more frequently. The opp pitchers would have to either throw them fbs or watch you walk to 2nd and 3rd. Chase needs to be more const. Unlike Howard, he obviously puts the ball in play more( But Chase still k's a lot for a 3hole hitter). Chase goes way up and looks Pete Rose like and then he kinda disapp. for a stretch. Mr. Ryan Howard. You are your own worst enemy man. Your #'s would be sick w/o the sh@t load of k's. When are u gonna learn that pitchers are not going to throw u fb even in traditional fb counts. It's kinda sad and infur. at the same time to see you just give away abats so often. RAUUUUL...... Are u tried or something. What's going on. PEDS?? Please God no. I'm sure glad we we got B. Fran. Raul you're like a robot. "I'm a freakazoid. So watch me..." so it's kinda hard to read you, but your abat last nite with the bases loaded was pathetic. We got all jacked when u came to the plate. And then the ab was over b4 we even had a chance to fantasize about a bases clearing double in the gap. Jason:Stay away from the low and away slider in the dirt and the occasional "zombie juice" you seem to like and it's all good. Attack that the 1st fb you get in the strike zone more often and it's 40 homers for you sir. Feliz: What's up with the E's recently. That's not like u. Is that back giving out again? You seem to have more back problems than Scottie Pippen use to. Victorino:Stay healthy and a little more selective at the plate. Thats all for you. For now. Ruiz: I was shocked when I saw your age. 30. really? Damn man. Just pretend it's the WS or something. You show flashes but then do vanish for weeks and weeks at a time. I hope the Marson move doesn't come back and bite us. I think Ruiz's D and game calling is more than a little over rated. But what are you gonna do? His pitch calling w/Lopez against the Cards last week wasn't very good and it along with Pedro's Es in game 1 of this series probably cost Lopez his spot in the rotation. Not cool at all. Phils are WFC champs and are in 1st. But as one Hollywood writer once wrote for Uncle Ben , no not the one on that yummie box of rice, with "Great Power, comes Great Responsibility." And another World F'in Championship.

Our 8th spot in batting order= probably the worst production from that spot in MLB. The Phils had to win the 1st one of this series and the last one against Arz for that matter. Phillies please don't make Zito look like a mid-90's version of Randy Johnson today. We can't take it anymore. Score 4 runs(5-6 preff.), play solid D and that should be good enough for the win against the O challgd. San Francisco Baseball Giants . On that Bako tag: I thought the throw was too far up the line(and the throw kinda hancuffed Bako a little bit). More importantly, I thought Jason W. should've caught that ball. Guaranteed the Giants don't try to run on that arm on a ball that shallow. Jason didn't get a good read on that one. He and the other Phils out fielders have not picked up/read the ball well in this series. I also thought it was a mistake by Charlie to start Matt Stairs in right field (especially a field with such a large right/right center gap) in game Charlie knew D would be so important. But today's a new day. I have faith our Phils will find a way to get the spilt. They better. We got the Rockies next.

Good morning Phillies Nation. We lost to their reject 6th starter and I know he threw a no hitter but that was against the Padres every other great team he has been demolished and that is why he was benched. These games against these pitchers are going to hurt the Phils. They will surely win the division but now it is time to look at the home field advantage

The game against Jonathan Sanchez was the killer.
