Of course as a fan I’d rather the Phillies be up 2-0. My point in my original post was that its ironic for the MLB to have given this series poor start times when it is turning out to be the most exciting series. And I hope its not exciting for the rest of the way as I hope the Phils get blowout wins in games 3 and 4. But I would not be surprised in the least if it went 5.

-Charlie if you f*ck this up I swear to God I’m done with your Cowboy managing antics…

-Of course I don’t mean this whole heartedly, but you catch my drift..

-It better be either Blanton/Happ for Game 3 and Mr. Cliff f*cking Lee in Game 4… Pedro nice press conf and I respect your “no fear” mentality, but now is not the time to send you and your near 6.0 career era at Coors on the mound for this extremely crucial Game 3. The winner of Game 3 probably takes the series…

-The BP is not as bad as thought (pending a Lidge blown save)… After thinking about it Charlie used Happ earlier because he was trying to save Eyre for a .1 inn 9th in a save spot, and either Lidge or Madson for the last 2 outs.. But he should not have used them both… That was retarded…..

-The games on 3 straight days may cost BP wise, but it will hurt Col too… That’s the only draw back, that and maybe seeing U. Jimnz. again sooner rather than later. We may see Cole pitch Game 1 after all, this time in the NLCS….

-The Phils got a break.. They better cash in….

-I’m done wasting time responding to worthless trolls….

Wow chitown you’re right I just bought my first tv this year and know nothing about baseball..I guess I offended you by saying how much more happier I’d be and most all the others on here if we were up 2-0….I’m going to the book store today to read more about baseball and hopefully I’ll be able to understand how its more exciting to be tied with 2 games away from home to a team that is something like 50 and 31 at home and we have been struggling all year with the bullpen worries and starting pitchers and some guys who may be really tired or even hurt…but they just keep on trying. I hope we win in 5 so its more “compelling” and then the next series goes 7 games that would be super “compelling” and then then, then, wow this writing is even “compelling” I’m stuttering … I think the Worlds Series should go 7 games too and we win the 7 th game whewwwwww thank you so much for your in site…gotta get to the book stor now and then off to the tatoo shop for the Phillies logo and right under it the word “COMPELLING”……the Red Soxes came back from 0-3 and went on to win the W/S but you didn’t hear from me chitown…cause I know nothing….

Jroll Joel, yes its the best series because it is the closest and arguably the most compelling cause who knows whats gonna happen. If you happened to watch baseball before this year (clearly u haven’t), most 2-0 LDS leads hold up, so those other series are all but over. Does that mean they will this year for sure? No, of course not. But in terms of the most compelling series with 2 evenly matched teams, this one takes the cake.

Morris, you are absolutely correct, if that blown call had been against the Yankees, we would have heard about it for YEARS. How the hell did he blow that call, the ball was at least a foot fair? The Twins should have been jumping up and down and screaming at that ump, think he was paid off for that call? There are only two sports franchises that I can say with complete honesty I can’t stand, the Yankees and the N.E. Patriots. I would love to see the Phillies spank those Yanks, but you just know everyone, announcers, umps, media, will all be biased, and I swear, if the Phils would lose to them by way of a bad call like last night, I think I’d go totally and completely nuts.

If the Phils do end up playing the Spankmees, I will probably get banned from here, I will be wound up like a top, baby, and no doubt borrowing many of my dad’s curse words he’s made up over decades of watching the Phils.

This the best series????? cause it’s tied what are you watching for ….so I guess if you we were up 2 zip what would it be then????? a BORE…give me a break some of you are so F’n stupid with the remarks on here..ya blame this guy today another tommorrow someone else the next time…complain about the start times aka Hamels ….when do you want to play? its called BASEBALL ya play it year long to get here …and I’m thankful we’re here …yeah the timing aint great mother nature is not co-operating either but CRAP the team is tuff more so then ya give it credit for…I’m not a Pedro fan at all never liked him and still think Happ was the way to go..but Charlie see it other wise so we got take that…there’s nothing we can do about the times and MLB and the umpires…but we can hope for a “snow” out nobody wants to play in the junk out CO….not even the Rookies …I think if it gets cancelled Happ will pitch sunday and then Blanton..I hope but have no control either way…and yes to those who saw a terrible call against the Twins last night….some how the line ump didn;t see where the ball landed Helen Kelller could have saw that one but …hey it wasn’t against us ….THIS TIME!!! lets just go with LETS GO PHILS..I’m new here and I’m done hope I didn’t offend anyone. remember last year…after game 5.1 it was not raining, but was very cold. dumb selig said that the conditions weren’t favorable for a game the night. betcha bottom dollar that the temps will be colder tonite than it was then. will the game get played? bet on it. its just the way this idiot works…
how this guy had the know-how to run a business, let alone an mlb team, let alone mlb, is beyond me.

What I find even more ironic about these crappy start times is this is by far the best series so far. Every other series is at 2-0.

From everything I’ve been able to find, Happ was already saying he was fine yesterday, and really good point about him prob having cold weather pitching experience. From here, order should be Happ, Blanton, Lee on short rest if needed. Sorry, Pedro, but speaking as an old fart myself, ya wanna support your team best you can, wear lots of warm phils gear in the dugout and give lots of high fives and hand bumps as we come back in from crossin’ the plate. Poor Jamie can’t even do that anymore and, um, wasn’t he half your show for most of the year anyhow…

I am a Phillies fan in Omaha, NE where it is 28 degrees here at 5:30 AM on Saturday morning with a wind chill of 19 degrees figuring in the NW wind. Just checked the weather further out west in Denver at this time and it is 20 degrees with snow. They are crazy if they play that game tonight.

Why would there be any scenario where lee pitches on short rest?
You lose game 3 games 4 and 5 are both elimination. Why use him in game 4? You want to be eliminated? I will never understand logic.

i don’t think pedro going to pitch a good game…his 4 quality starts with the phils came against the mets twice,the giants,and the nats…the giants offense sucks and the mets and nats aren’t any good…the rockies crush right handed pitching and were at their stadium in freezing weather…i agree with the person on here that said why not give happ the start he pitched at northwestern where it’s cold so he’s prolly pitched in weather like that before and does manuel seem to forget who pitched a complete game shutout against the rockies?i hope cliff lee can pitch on 3 days rest.

I remember Franzke saying during game two at I think it was the third inning “Cole Hamels has finished his warm up tosses and is ready to go but we’re just waiting for the TV broadcast to finish with the commercials.” Not to be totally cynical, but if TBS can go through MLB and say “don’t play yet cause we have two more commercials we want to squeeze in despite your rules.” what’s to stop them from saying “call more strikes to speed it up so we can get the sox on sooner.” or “blow a call for controversy thus improving ratings.”

As far as I’m concerned, post-season broadcasting is turning the playoffs into a circus. I know MLB is trying to make as much money as possible to compete with the NFL during the middle of their season BUT, I really can’t wait to see what happens when the TBS/FOX contract is up I think in 2012, and MLB’s plans with it’s network.

Mark my WORDS. Pedro will get eaten alive against the Rockies. I realize he pitched great against the AAA Mets. Threw 130 pitches that night. You cant put him out in this situation. Wasnt happ and blanton the reason were here. go away charlie.

The really bad thing in all of this is that JA Happ had a 4 hit shut out in august against the rockies. Somehow I doubt that any other team would take their best starter all year and shove him in the damn bullpen.
