actually – strike that last comment. I think he is a true Phillie..
The guy batted .204 last year.. with that average he can’t help the phils he can only hurt them by being on the roster…

so whats the next best thing? Play for the Mets and bring that 204 avg to the plate vs philly pitching!

Chris got what every player coming up in the bigs ever desires – a WS ring.
He remains a hard worker and a class guy but now he is with the enemy and being an X-Phil, I fully expect him to sting us whenever he plays against us

This news leaves me feeling sick. Just the thought of seeing a class guy like Coste in that disgusting Muts uniform makes me cringe. I do however, wish Chris the best.

Phillies fans can’t be mad at at Coste. He always seemed like the kind of guy who loves to play the game and I’m sure he was going to go any team that would offer him a contract.

My personal view: I’ve met a small handful of ballplayers in my day during autograph sessions and what not. When Coste was promoting his book, he did a signing at a local Barnes and Noble and I stopped by and I thought he was the nicest and most outgoing ballplayer I’ve come across. Total class act. True, he was nothing amazing but he was always a worker and always fought hard to get to the majors and stay there. I’m glad he got a job and an opportunity to play in the bigs again. He deserves it. Yes, it’s the dreaded Mets and I have never cheered for a Met but I’m willing to make an exception for Coste.
