If the Phils are able to pull out game 6 I think we could see Charlie opt for a starter by committee approach in game 7 i.e. Happ, Hamels, Myers and Lee each go 2 innings a piece.

Dominate thru 3 to 4 innings maybe…The Rays were a good team, this Yankee line-up is from baseball Hell and you can’t get by with a 90+ mph straight arrow 4 seamer and a change-up 2nd or 3rd time thru the line-up esp., when after 3 innings, your FB drops to 88 mph. Plus he doesn’t what the ball despite what he says

I just think that the BIGGER story is Game 6. What should we expect to see in game 6… what if Shane can’t go? How should the Phillies be preparing (what did Pettitte do the last time we faced him?)?

I think that this is NY Post propaganda… if several reports denied that it actually happened, then it might be much to do about nothing. It’s ok to report that it happened but also report that there are several reports that say that it never happened. I guess that I’m just worried that we’re going to forget about what lies ahead… Andy Pettitte and Yankee stadium.

todd zolecki said that the quit term is a running joke in the clubhouse. ie he would ask if charlie is around and someone would say “nah, he quit”. so earlier bret asked if cole was around and someone said “nah, he quit”, and so he had that saying in his head when he saw him later, saying “what are you doing here, i thought you quit”. as for the comeback, cole was basically joking back with him. not too long after someone said that victorino said something and cole said something like “whats he going to do, fight me with one arm?”

i’m paraphrasing b/c i heard this while driving, but basically this is national media who are never around these guys taking it out of context. according to every single person that is close to these guys, its a non-issue and was all a joke.

Stop worrying what a bunch of out-of-town reporters write about the Phillies locker room. It sounds to me like they’re just being sarcastic, something I do every day with my friends. If I had someone follow me around all the time and report out-of-context jokes, then you’d get a totally wrong idea about my life too.

These players have thought about playing in the World Series all their lives and I’m sorry if the way the handle the stress isn’t easily understandable. Every time a Phillie walks to the plate, I can imagine the next pitch will get knocked out of the park. And every time a Phillie starts heads to the mound, I imagine him striking out the side. Everyone needs to relax and enjoy the ride.
