The big question, I guess, is what happens to the line-up if Shane’s taken out of it? Werth in the 2-hole? Ibanez?

Game 7 will be all hands on deck. Don’t get down on Cole. His arm is shot(I agree with Kerrigan). He’s only good for 50/60 pitches. Use Cole for 3, then go Happ/Blanton/Lee in the middle and close out with Park/Madson/Lidge/Eyre. * I didn’t like what Cole said, But i understand were he’s coming from. On the flip side Lidge’s blank stare pisses me off much more, but that’s just me.

It might snow on Thursday… I would love to see MLB push it back to Friday but I doubt that will happen. Tomorrows game goes off as scheduled.

Phils need to win game 6 first, but suddenly the Phils’ chances for game 7 got a lot better.

The Phillies and their fans…..that’s all of us…..are participating in a MEANINGFUL baseball game in November……that’s NOVEMBER….it’s a super thrill to be thinking about the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday and watching the Phillies defend their title at the same time…

IF there is a game 7 I expect Hamels to start but on a short leash. Closer will be Lee if we are lucky.

Odds of taking two at New York are low but not impossible.

Whatever happens, can we stop looking for someone to blame? Someone wins and someone loses. The Yankees are a good team – they will hit the best pitchers. They have good pitchers who are hard to hit. Same for the Phillies.

Enjoy the ride – 28 other teams are home watching. I would rather love the angst of watching these games rather than not!

Andy Pettitte on three days rest has a career record of 4-6 with an ERA well over 4.

Hasn’t pitched on three days rest since 2006, when he was 34. He’s now 37. That’s a big three years in the life of a pitcher. You just don’t recover as fast.

Pedro will be pitching on 5 days rest.

Doesn’t mean we’re going to win. But it’s something.

Clearly both teams are worried about it. I’ve seen both the Phils and Yanks using multiple signs — even with NO ONE on base.

LAst night, Fox had some great shots of Lee switching the grip in his glove right before the pitch. He’d start with changeup grip and then throw a fastball. Seems like they were worried about the first-base coach getting a peak at something or that Lee might be tipping his pitches.

All this kind of stuff — stealing signs, players getting hit, a little trash talk, tipping pitches — is what makes for a great, heated playoff series. Gotta love it.!

Love how the opposing batters try to slow down Lee’s breakneck pace by screwing around in the box and calling time. Posada got it once, and not getting it the second successive time was a wonderful thing … Lee didn’t falter, tossed one right in there for a strike, and make Posada’s strikeout that much more beautiful.

I love it.

Second of all, stealing signs is a part of the game. Players and coaches on the bench and the bullpen should look for signs from the catcher, from the 3rd base coach, from the opposing bench, etc. whenever possible. It might sound elementary to some but that is why there is so much attempt at deception when giving signs. I am not sure if cameras are prohibited or not. If they are not, then I assume all teams use them also.

Between that and Texiera’s comment that “there are the Yankees and there’s everyone else” I wanted to jump through the TV and beat the crap out of every single player not named Derek Jeter and Rivera.

Smug, arrogent just like their fanbase who think this is over. Yes, the Yanks have momentum and are going home. But they are a facing a team who is not afraid of them, who is with them step for step.

I decided to do something that I don’t normally do: I read the game thread from yesterday and I am glad that I did. I’m so proud of our fan base. There is still a lot of life left in our fans and this team… rather than getting down, we looked at the situation for what it was and rallied. Girardi made a huge gamble by going with three pitchers on short rest and you have to realize that the rotation has now turned over in our favor. We have the match-ups we want and if we can get to game 7, you have to feel really good about this lineup seeing CC for the third time in 10 days.

We’re a better road team… have been all year… why can’t us? Andy Pettitte is not going to lay down but the sun is shining this morning and our guys have dealt a huge blow. There is a storm brewing… the question marks surrounding Joe Girardi’s decision to go with a 3 man rotation loom large. Just this morning, I have heard these comments: “How can you have a $200 million payroll and not have a reliable fourth starter?” and “If the Yankees lose this series, Joe Girardi will likely be fired.”

The pressure is on; it won’t be easy but it never is. NY played a great game yesterday and we still won… we need to keep getting timely hits and play better defensively if we want to win game 6. Hopefully, Howard uses this day off to spend some extra time in the batting cages (and shave that stuff off of his face).
