Wow… I’m sure I had some of those things… my parents loved going to the game when I was little. My mom and I won one of those free vacations one year. I think we went to Florida or something…

This might sound disturbing, or maybe a show of my, well, experience. But that commercial about “Ethel” sent me back a bit.

In 1986, I was dating one of the Amoroso girls, you know, “an heir to the baking fortune.” (You all can stop laughing at any time. But the seats she got were fab, three rows back from the field, between the backstop and the beginning of the Phillies dugout.) This might not sound a bit humorous, but to this day, I still shout, “Ethel!” when things go wrong with my spouse.

Absolutely disturbing how these things connect together, over time.

That trade wasnt even a bad trade on the phillies end. But the legend lives on.
