Dudley: I get hyped a bit too for the meetings, but in the end its too many rumors and not enough substance. And really, no need for it to be in Indy this time of year.

I lived in Indianapolis for five years. It is a real boring town this time of year. And, yes, the Winter Meetings are a pseudo-event. But. let’s face it, for us baseball nuts, they are fun. I admit that I like them more than the Super Bowl. Lots did happen. And Ed Wade pissed off a lot of us Phils fans. GREAT THEATER !!!

I agree with John Finger in that we have made the World Series twice and we need to do everything in our power to do it again. We need to sign Halladay and we need to stay real hungry. This is the greatest Phillies team of all time based on those two World Series. We all know what a winning drought is and we know that we have the players to get to the Big Show again. Let’s make it happen. I remember when our biggest thrill was whether Jim Eisenreich would get enough at-bats to qualify for the batting title. The World Series and Playoffs are much better, even though Jim Eisenreich is one of my all-time favorite Phils.
