I wasn’t able to join you for the chat today… but since everyone else was giving out predictions for H-cubed, then I’ll do the same:

    Halladay: 17 wins, 3.05 ERA
    Hamels: 19 wins, 2.95 ERA
    Happ: 13 wins, 3.95 ERA

And yes, I realized I have Hamels with slightly better numbers than Roy… I really see Hamels having a season similar to 2008 –only that now he’s more mature, will have a better 3rd pitch, and is not expected to be the ace. He’ll be the Cool Cole we all knew.

As for Roy, I expect him to have great numbers too but I think his HR numbers will go up pitching half his games at CBP (compare his 22 last year vs. Hamel’s 24… and you would think that Hamels gave up way more during such a mediocre season…). You can counter that with the No-DH National League, but still I rather be pleasantly surprised with our new ace than disappointed if he has an ERA over 3.

My Halladay predictions: 22 wins, 5 losses, 2.58 ERA. Cy Young Award.

its REALLY tough to win 20 games … luck plays a large role

But i think Halladay will DOMINATE the National League this year..

Hamels’ win total will likely stay low again, he seems to get little run support . . .possibly because he doesn’t work quickly, and players arent as into the game when he is on the hill ? . . . but I see him with a sub -3.50 ERA, and a win total at or around 15

the closer he gets to 3.00 and 20 wins . . .he gets into the Cy Young arguement

  • Avoiding humans?–not a lot of the hardship i’ve discovered :)) Wearing earplugs? Moving to a “world” with bearable, and “enlightened” beings?
