Philadelphia Phillies (20-12) at Colorado Rockies (15-17)
Roy Halladay, RHP (6-1, 1.45 ERA) vs. Aaron Cook, RHP (1-3, 6.03 ERA)
Time: 3:10 p.m at Coors Field
Weather: 50% chance of rain, 45
TV: Comcast SportsNet

What a game. Chooch and Shane came up huge for the Phillies in Game 1 of their three game set with Colorado, pacing them to a 9-5 win. Tonight, it’s another Halladay, as it is every five days here in Philly.
Roy Halladay goes for win #7 in his hometown and the Phils go for their 7th win in the last eight games. The only problem that could derail things tonight? The weather. They are calling for rain out at Coors Field, so it could throw a wrench into Halladay’s start if there are delays. Doc has faced the Rockies just once in his career, and wouldn’t you know it, he tossed a complete game-shutout. Nice.
Aaron Cook takes the hill for COL and he hasn’t done very well at all this season. The 2008 All Star has struggled out of the gate, posting an obnoxious 1.57 WHIP. He’s also walked 18 and struck out the same, an awful BB/K ratio. In his career, the Phils have owned him. Cook is 1-5 with an ERA pushing six.
Tonight’s Lineup: Victorino (CF), Polanco (3B), Utley (2B), Howard (1B), Werth (RF), Ibanez (LF), Ruiz (C), Valdez (SS), Halladay (P)
Your Gameday Beer – Molson Canadian
In honor of the Blue Jays/Phillies series being moved to Philadelphia, we’ll celebrate by sipping on a Canadian classic. I grew up on this stuff early on in the college years. It’s got some bite, but is surprisingly smooth. We used to collect the bottles that had “twin-label technology” on them. Needless to say our room smelled like beer. Nice! – By Pat

Will Wilson Valdez be playing this game? If he is then expect him to ground into at least one double play. The guy is just awful.

I think the game has already been cancelled.

Yup, cancelled due to weather. It would be nice if the Phils were so prompt about this — the Phils wait a couple of hours, so they can make money on the concession sales from fans who are stuck in the stands with nothing to do.

Day/night doubleheader for tomorrow. Hopefully Flyers coverage doesn’t interfere with the broadcast tomorrow night.

Day game tomorrow starts at 3 PM Philly time. Phillies.com indicates that Moyer will be pitching, but I don’t know if that’s accurate.

(it was originally scheduled for 3 PM Philly time — the night game is apparently the make-up)

Wonderful post – I was heading for an article on a related subject that I need to continue working on, but from a slightly different angle. Thanks for sharing this with your readers…I’m sure I’m not the only one who appreciates it.

This is a great, fresh perspective on this subject. Genuinely was not expecting that when I started off studying. You write about these concepts in an easy-to-understand sort of way that I hadn’t really considered. Delighted to know that there’s an individual out there that absolutely recognizes what he’s talking about! Fantastic job.
