I like a lot of players Don M, my good friend and respected poster, but who really cares about the players I like? Or who you like? I like a lot of players including almost all of the Phils. Who wants to read a post about how much someone loves a player.

RE: Wheeler. Without sounding like some kind of snobby so and so, I am more familiar with the story of Chris Wheeler than almost all….I think. No, I’m pretty sure. Harry hated him. Wheels hates Sarge Larry hates Wheels. The organization has kept him on and because of it we have this backwards ass broadcasting schedule where people get moved around to accomodate Wheels and so certain broadcasters don’t have to work with him.

Scott Franzke and Larry should be doing TV. But as long as Dave Montgomery is here so is Wheels. Quite frankly, I don’t know what either one of them are still doing here.

I think Moyer will, somehow, somewhere, make it into the Hall of Fame and will get 300 wins. He will make it for his perserverence, and his longevity, which translates into character. Satchel Paige made the HOF, so did Addie Joss after 9 years and dying early of TB. Both had extenuating circumstances. There are a number of pitchers who belong in the HOF, but 300 wins gets ALL OF THEM IN. Look for Blyleven, Kaat and Tiant to also be inducted someday. They deserve it more than Moyer.

300 wins won’t get him into the Hall of Fame … because, regardless of win-total, he’s not a Hall of Fame pitcher

I feel like you’re taking over for the old GEOFF that used to post on here about trading Rollins, Howard, etc.. everyday

Moyer has been around long enough to know that Catchers, on high pops “up the elevator shaft” can sometimes try to snag it, but its spinning too much, and an easy out becomes just another foul ball …. For some reason you don’t like Wheeler .. I think because him and Harry didn’t get along in 1996? … but of all the announcers, he’s easily the most knowledgable about the game, doesn’t matter that he didn’t play it .. that means that he probably studied it more, unlike Sarge who gives us insights like “you’re gonna need some baserunners here..and in order to do that.. you’re gonna need some guys to get on base!” …Thanks Sarge, that was really useful .. its gotten to the point where I usually don’t even listen to innings 4-5-6- anymore

Moyer has been an “average” pitcher .. true … and thank god he’s been an average pitcher, because while Myers, Blanton, Hamels, Happ, etc.. have been injured the past few seasons, he’s really bailed us out

Hey, you need honest negativity. Its the negative verses the positive that makes this blog so outstanding. We have fun. This is not the end of the world. I beat my kids much less by venting on this blog. My wife still smacks me around a little, but I really like it. The blog is to have some fun, appreciate our differences, break a few stones from time to time and not take it so seriously that it ruins our day. Plus we get some great articles from Pat and the Crew that educate us and also stirs us up. Keep up the good work.

Dipsy, I wasn’t happy with the second year, either. But you have to admit….he IS earning it….at least so far this season.

Oh, and let me repeat what I said earlier….300 wins gets him into the Hall. But he won’t get to 300.
