when this team tanks, the TANK. And it lasts a long time.
I excpect 5-15 the next 20 games.
That should put them out of anything.
Then a furious rally in the last weeks to get them deceptivley close.
All will say”Darn , if it wasn’t for those injuries” disregarding the fact that almost everybody on the team was on rack for horrible years absent injury

I agree this is depressing. But I’ve seen way too much from this team to say the game is over…especially in the 4th inning.

atlest kendrick is consistant. one run every inning.

There has got to be someone in the minors with a pulse that can pitch better than this. Losing 4 games at home to the Astros is unacceptable and at the end of the year if the Phills miss out on the playoffs they can take a look at these 4 pathetic games.

I’ve just seen them turn it on too many times over the past few seasons. Not saying they will today….but they could.

Nice scenario
The Braves go out to colorado and get swept
The phillies facing a woeful last place team for 4 games at home.
The braves gain a half a game in the standings.
Unthinkable

Labor Day w/e last year Phils lost 4 in a row to Houston in Houston. So I guess there is hope. Then again last year we were 22 over .500 going into that god awful series and had a lead in the division.

Chuck I feel you but the phillies dont have a hit today.
they have scored 2 or less 43 times this year.
you are feelign it today?
I hope you are right.

Let’s face it: Kendrick is fried. We won’t likely see another quality start from him for the rest of the season. Chalk it up to a decent year of development for a young back-of-the-rotation pitcher.
As for the lineup, they’re an expensive flop. The hungry overachievers—Valdez, Gload, Francisco—were not only more productive lately, but more fun to watch. Amaro put together the pieces of what looks on paper like a championship team. But the key players are failing—and at just about the worst point of the season.
I hope RAJ cleans house in the offseason.

Kendrick should be in A ball. Utley is hitting like a chump. Bench him and Howard for a few games.

Am I feeling it today?? I’m not sure what I’m feeling…..but….I am one of those guys that waits and listens for the Fat Lady.
I was at the game last night and it was a DISGRACE how many fans left after the 8th inning. It was a ONE-RUN GAME. And those people left. Why?? Makes no sense to me at all.

Kendrick should be in A ball. Utley and Howard should be sent to the minors for a week or two to get their swing back. They look pathetic at the plate.

I think sometimes we get overly unhappy with the teams results thinking the ships sinking when the Phils haven’t really lost any ground with losses…
BUT
The team needs to break the cycle of bi-polar baseball be it the difference between a fruitfall NLCS and an offensively putrid World Series or the offensive explosions followed by games of either not driving in runs or not getting men on base and advancing them.
This is an elite team now but they have to stop playing like a basketball team and even out their performances be it wins or losses.
On Kendrick he’s had a great season for his ability, he’s now a legitimate rotation candidate and as far as I’m concerned when people say it’s guys like Kendrick that are the problem it’s masking bigger problems. We shouldn’t have to rely on Kyle Kendrick at this point in the year, the guys played his part.

Braves won 2 out 3 in houston but believe me each of them was so close.., The last one braves scored 8 runs in the 9th inning to win that one
These astros are playing so hard , gotta appreciate it.., all those kids are working so hard for jobs next year in the lineup
