Hell of a win last night boys, now make me look good!
The Phillies got some much needed offense in the 8-4 victory, but they’ll no doubt have a tough time matching that performance against tough lefty Clayton Kershaw. There is good news – Kershaw is 0-4 with a 6.31 ERA in six starts/nine appearances (regular and post-season combined) against the Phillies in his career. They know something about this hard throwing lefty, so let’s hope last night carries over.
Your Gameday Beer – UFO Hefeweizen
As the dogs days of summer continue to hover upon us, we’re going with smooth wheat beer for today’s afternoon game. It comes from Harpoon Brewery out of Boston and this is their Un-Filtered Offering. The sweet wheat malts help give the beer a light body and a similarly light citrus and yeast taste. It’s by far not the best Hefeweizen in the world, but it’s great for a steamy afternoon. With summer beer comes summer food, so have some chicken kabobs with it. – By Brian

adam , i know how you feel but thats baseball especially this year.
This year pitching is at its lowest era in like 20 years , andrew check my math with your xtra senses. Seriously though there are more 1 run games this year than there has been in years , saw it on baseball tonite couple weeks ago they were showin the figures.

So charlie is going to use madson and lidge every day regardless of score.
I dont like it at all.
this could be a long term problem.
I dont want lidge and Madson in games with leads of more than 3 from here on out. That includes at home
there is a crucial game tomorrow

hes completely unavailable tomorrow now. Madson should be too and romero. Then there is no day off till next thursday.

Lidge has been great… he really has. Very few people are willing to admit that he’s not Brad Lidge of 2009 (he’s not 2008, either but he’s definitely a solid closer). You can’t ask for much more than an 80% save percentage…

who he was. —- So andrew , can we count on the cards to take care of braves this month ? I think if your prediction comes true and the braves don’t make playoffs the cards are gonna have to put a whoopin on them. Besides us who do the braves really play besides the cards. The one team that hurts everyone in the spoiler role is the fish. Remember what they did to the mets a few years ago. The braves get those pirates that beat us , what was that , we lost 3 of 4 to them last time ?
