Ain’t she a beaut!? Check out our newest addition to the Phillies Nation store from our resident t-shirt dude, Tom Robinson. It’s “The Vet” t-shirt. Commemorate the 1980 team and the place they called home with this kick-ass tee for just $17, or, get the value tee for only $13!

If you’ll notice, we’ve outlined the 700 Level for you, showing the old yellow seats we all sat in a time or two. Or a hundred. Get them before the season starts, or better yet, before Spring Training!

I wonder if the very young baseball fans who never seen the Vet, let alone attended a game there would be puzzled by a flying saucer shaped design on the shirt (chuckles). One suggestion; the words “The Vet” should be printed under the stadium.

The Vet’s architectural design belongs to that era of a dreary group of oversized concrete behemoths where fans in many seating areas needed binoculars to watch a game. :-) Frankly, for many baseball purists, the cavernous stadium with its’ artificial turf was a visual eyesore. I guess nostalgia can be applied to anything including the 700 level with its’ then reputation for having the rowdiest fans located there. Obviously I’m making a point here that I don’t miss going to the Vet. However, I do have fond memories of that very special year..1980. :-)
