Your Gameday Beer – Schneider Weisse
Schneider Weisse is yeast wheat Bavarian beer that is delicious cold on a warm afternoon. This hefe-weizen – when poured correctly – unleashes a strong aroma, but the taste is fairly bitter. If you like wheat beers, this is certainly one to try today. It gets an A from the folks at BeerAdvocate. Have it with some strawberries – By Brian

Mayberry can even play first.
Re: The Marlins
I dont think for a second they will beat the Phillies in a playoff series.
But I also know they arent like the Braves last year or the mets the 2 years before that who at no point I thought could take the Division regardless of leads.
Was kidding about Dobbs and Helms. They arent a major reason why they could make the Phils a wild card. I really thought that a few weeks ago. But the Phils have turned the corner. They are winning the east. Pretty easily barring some serious injuries.
They hoodwinked the Braves with Uggla. Making themselves better and the Braves worse with one move.

Not a real happy lineup but hey, its Sunday and lets see what happens. Could be Worley’s time to shine or, who knows? Should probably be a fun game to watch.
No Piece, no Utley, no Brown, no Chooch – Think about it Muts fans, if you were ever going to take 1 from the Phils this would probably be it.
Hah!

The difference, and reason why we are getting to the oppositions bullpen, is because guys like Utley make their starters throw many more pitches.
Worley doesn’t have the movement he had, at least at this point

I doubt it, they had a lead for 7 innings yesterday and didn’t show. I think they call it Mets indifference.
Worley needs to have a seat -soon!

Actually, I’d like to see him work his way through this thing. It’s a good learning experience.

Looks ike runs arent so hard to come by for the mets
Really bad defense there
Worley needs to just pitch every 5th day
no moving up and down coming out of the pen etc etc.

Mets fans are in hiding
I really dont blame them.
The phillies have had a lot of bad teams. But they were never the disgrace that the Mets are.
I dont think I could watch a team like they are.
I have Reyes in fantasy this year. Next year with the big contract I wont even consider

Looks like a long day. The Mutts, as pathetic as they are can beat the AAAA team we trotted out today.

This is an interesting lineup… Mayberry at first. I said in reply to the possibility that the Phils would DFA/DL Gload that he’s our back up 1B. Well, this move is a vote of confidence for Mayberry… They really want to keep him around. I’m not sure what happens when Vic comes back but it’s looking more and more like Gload (unlikely bc of his pinch hitting success) or Mini-Mart or Valdez are gonna go. I dont think they give up on Benny Fresh bc of what he has done and D-Bro has almost played his way into a starting role so I really think it’s either go w 11 pitchers, give mini back or offer Valdez a minor league option.

Lurking Mets fan who reads the blogs of other teams but not here to stir it up. Reality is Phillies are heads and shoulders above the Mets. Hard to talk smack when your team stinks.. but i dont go into hiding…still watching every pitch of every game but refuse to support the Wilpons at the box office.

Getting squeezed a little bit… Mutts are all over Vance. He has thrown some good pitches but the Mutts have hit every mistake.

Will be 25,000 plus phils fans there tomorrow and its a Halladay/Holliday
Tomorrow is probably the toughest Nats ticket this year.
But I am sure you can still walk in and get a ticket
I am going Tuesday night I think
Go get Worley
and then start him regularily in 5 days
the end

The Nats do sell gameday seats for $10 starting 2 hours before the game. Usually there is a line of Phillies fans waiting, but that might be a good option.

The only time the Nats tix are tough to get is – when the Phils play there.
Ben Fran’s arm is as bad as Raul’s.

What a difference between Worley’s stuff today and when we faced him in Philly. Looked like he was throwing too many 1st pitch fastballs. Surprised Manuel left him in there to bat.

MIKE -
I’m curious – are other Mets fan like you, in that they are not supporting the Wilpons? I feel like there should be more protest over the way they’ve run your franchise into the ground. There were a few good season but nothing to make up for the financial mess they’re in now. Are Mets fans revolting?
