Charlie Morton is Roy Halladay

Is Charlie Morton the next Roy Halladay? If you’re going with style points, the guy is dead on. Sportscenter did a split screen, which you can see here, putting the two side by side and their releases are exactly the same. Well, really, Morton is trying to perfect Halladay’s, and he’s doing a damn good job. Take a look at how close they are. If Morton were slightly taller, they’d look like the same guy from the back.

And why wouldn’t Charlie Morton want to emulate Halladay in every conceivable way? Whatever Morton was trying previously just wasn’t working. He finished 2010 with a 2-12 record and a 7.57 ERA in 17 starts, so back to the drawing board he went. And instead of taking notes or pieces of Halladay delivery, he said the hell with it – I’ll take the whole thing. The results have been impressive – 5-2, 2.51 ERA

Phillies fans will get to see Morton this Saturday against Kyle Kendrick.

Morton might act like Halladay, look just like him, pitch just like him, but I’ll bet he doesn’t have a Chooch at home to help him pick his ham or turkey!

Ive had him in fantasy for a few weeks.

I love finding players like him.
I even spot started James McDonald of the Pirates earlier this week. But I dont trust him long term. And didnt want 2 pirates vs the Phils this weekend.
So I dropped him for JA Happ and his SD start tomorrow.

Now if Cliff Lee will become the next Charlie Morton the Phils will be in business.

Lefty Roy was a good pitcher before Chooch. The Pirates are a tougher team this year i really wished we could of took that last game from Nats but Nix f’ed up for us. We will have our starting line up for the first time. Any word on any recent roster moves for the Phils.

Roy really appreciates Ruiz. Thats enough for me.

    Is Victorino coming back today?

I hope Martinez is give the bus ticket back to DC.
I doubt the Senators will claim him back though.

I was wonder Andrew cant the Phils just call the Nats. Hey we going to release Mini Mart do you guys want him back. We need to know before we do it. We have Valdez an if we keep Mayberry on the Roster i think we should be ok. Then again with our injury Prone line up i can some what see why Cholly wants to hold on to Mini Mart.

Its all a courtesy to the 28 year old scrub.
No one wants him. Makes him feel wanted.

There really is no other option. Mayberry isnt going anywhere.
Maybe Fransisco getting moved for nothing. But no one wants him either.

If Ben or Martinez go thats fine regardless of how its done.
Mayberry holds some value. Dont forget he was the back up CF.
    Not Mini Mart
All of his value was as a back up CF who could play many positions

Remember the one they held on for all of 2010?
    Was the masterful David Herndon.
I like to think of Martinez as the 2011 Cy Herndon.

There still high from the luck they had with Vic in Rule 5, it doesn’t work every time.

Guys it was just a joke about the Chooch doll thing, Sheesh, laugh a little once in a while would you? Baseball is fun.

No worries losing Martinez if that’s what they choose to do, we can always call Orr up for injury replacement if needed. If – god forbid- two IF’s go down in the same game, Chooch can play third in a pinch. Otherwise we can get Orr here/or wherever for the very next game.

But – And this is not a prediction, I don’t think that is what they will choose to do. There seems to me to be something else in the works. I have no insider info, and no idea what that something is, just a hunch RAJ is up to something. Or maybe it’s as simple as Gload to the DL.

Lefty, I don’t think RAJ is up to anything this early on. I think it’s gonna be as simple as Gload to the DL and someone like Orr called up. Would LOVE to have Jim Thome back here though.

DAMN. He does look like Roy’s clone.

    Ugh.
