2011 Gameday, Posts

Philadelphia Phillies (53-32) at Florida Marlins (38-46)

Vance Worley (3-1, 2.57 ERA) vs Ricky Nolasco (5-4, 4.08 ERA)

Time: 6:10 pm, Sun Life Stadium
TV: MyPHL 17
Weather: Sunny, 90
Media: Twitter and Facebook

All-Stars:

Roy Halladay, Cliff Lee, Cole Hamels, and Placido Polanco will make the trek to Arizona to play in the 2011 MLB All-Star game. Polanco was voted in as the starter by the fans, while Halladay would seem to be the starting pitcher in the game if all ends well in the first half. He’s likely the front runner.

Also, Shane Victorino can make it with your help as the final vote for the NL. Congrats to all and good luck to Victorino.

TODAY’S GAME:

Yesterday…what happened!? Today is a new day and it’s the 4th of July, so lets start anew. Vance Worley goes for his 4th win on the 4th, opposed by Ricky Nolasco. The Marlins were brutally bad in the month of June, but have won back to back games. This feels like a bit of a trap series for the Phillies, who are coming off a tough loss to end their Toronto series.

It’ll be up to Worley, who has been outstanding, to make sure that does not happen.

Enjoy your holiday weekend!!

Lineup:

Your gameday beer: Corona

Why not celebrate the peak of the summer with an ice cold Corona. Nothing beats one of these on the beach, by the pool side, or while tending to a grill stacked with your favorite meats. Lime or no lime, it’s a refreshing reminder of the summer for many. Enjoy the next two months, because they’ll go by so quickly.  -By Pat

I would not have had Ruiz bunt there, He has too good a track record of hitting bombs in this football stadium. Mini Mart was the guy to bunt if he wasn’t successful.

But it shows how good Ruiz is, he never gets asked to do that, and bunted perfectly

    But it’s a waste now.

The problem is you can’t expect perfection from Bastardo, he’s going to blow one sooner or later. Without the runs, we keep going to the well. It’s scary.

Ridiculous call by the official scorer, that should be changed.

Brown is like Werth with the lack if instincts.
Someone like Utley has it more than anyone. And some players lack it.
Seen enough of Brown to know he doesnt have it.
But I still like him and am fine with im in right. But these things are gonna happen. Like they used to with Werth.

You had a few irish beers and then chased it with some irish whiskey. How’s that for play by play!

Seriously Utley and Brown collided in foul territory,

      Two out one to go!!!!!!

The trio of Lee, Halladay and Hamels is the greatest trio in baseball history.
    They should win the WS.
