Can we get a win, please? The losing streak is up to eight now–and I’m getting tired of it. If there is anyone that might be able to turn the tables, it’s Roy Halladay. He’ll be on the mound for the Phils today, and his 2.41 ERA tells me he will get the job done. He’ll have an easy time with David Wright, who has just three hits in 23 at-bats against the Phillies righty.
Opposing Halladay will be Mike Pelfrey, who is coming off a pretty ugly performance in St. Louis–he gave up five runs in six innings. The Phillies have pretty good numbers against him, so they should be able to score some runs. Another reason why we should see some runs scored today is the fact thast he has a 5.08 ERA against the Phils in his career. He’s been even worse this year–in five games started against the Phillies, he is 1-2 with a 6.84(!) ERA.
If there was ever a game to be a slump-buster, today is the game.
Lineup: Rollins SS, Utley 2B, Pence RF, Howard 1B, Victorino CF, Ibanez LF, Polanco 3B, Ruiz C, Halladay P
GAMEDAY BEER: Irish Car Bomb
Anyone else see the Temple-Penn State game this afternoon Phillies play baseball the last week?? That on top of Arsenal’s collapse against Blackburn Rovers this morning the fact that it’s been losses to the Cardinals, Nats and Mets, and suffice it to say I could use an Irish Car Bomb. Or seven.
