Gameday: Phillies (54-62) vs. Marlins (52-65)

Philadelphia Phillies (54-62) at Miami Marlins (52-65)

Roy Halladay (6-6, 3.80) vs. Mark Buehrle (9-11, 3.80)

TIME: 12:40, Marlins Park

Weather: Lower 80′s, mostly cloudy

Do me a favor, and don’t look at today’s lineup. You’ll think you’ve jumped in the hot tub time machine back to March. It’s a Clearwater lineup, and an ugly one at that.

Can anyone tell me why Domonic Brown is hitting behind Ty Wigginton AND Hector Luna? Brutal. At any rate, the Phillies still go for a sweep of the bottom-feeding Marlins. Pretty odd the Marlins have actually been worse. I picked the Phillies and Marlins to make the playoffs before the season (although I was far more skeptical of the Marlins) and we all know that ain’t happenin’.

Roy Halladay will look to make it three shutouts in a row for Phillies pitching. The odds of that happening aren’t great, but Halladay has looked very good recently, so you know he’ll be gunning for it. And if the top’s down on the ballpark, we don’t have to worry about Doc getting all red-faced and heat-stricken.

Lineup: Rollins SS, Frandsen 3B, Utley 2B, Wigginton 1B, Luna LF, Brown RF, Mayberry CF, Kratz C, Halladay P

GAMEDAY BEER: Brooklyn Gold Standard Export Kellerbier

This big-aroma’d SOB is considered a Zwickel/Keller/Landbier. If you know what that means, by all means, let me know. I have no idea. It goes through a lager process, so it sounds like a mix of all different beers. I’ll try anything and this one intrigues me. Drink it, if you can find it.  -By Pat
